Recently, due to OpenClaw This kind of AI assistantThe app went viral,Meta its AI agent platform Manus also recently announced a rapid launch Manus Agents functionality, integrating its autonomous AI agent capabilities into Telegram and other mainstream instant messaging apps. This innovation marks the formal arrival of personal AI agents in everyday consumer use, allowing users to delegate complex tasks without ever leaving the familiar chat interface. AI Handle it.

Meta Launches Manus Agents to Bring AI Assistant Features to Messaging Apps

Manus was first launched in March 2025 by the Singapore-based company Butterfly Effect Pte Ltd (蝴蝶效應科技), and is hailed by the industry as the “world’s first general-purpose AI agent.” Unlike traditional chatbots, Manus’s core strength is its ability to independently execute complex real-world tasks without requiring continuous user supervision or step-by-step guidance. From writing code and deploying applications to searching and researching information, building websites, and creating presentations, Manus can autonomously complete all of these tasks. We have also produced related tutorial videos to share:

In December 2025, Meta announced the acquisition of Manus for $2 to 3 billion, a deal seen as Meta’s major strategic move in the agentic AI space. Meta stated it would keep Manus operating as an independent product while integrating its technology into its own platforms such as Meta AI. Manus CEO Xiao Hong said at the time, “Joining Meta allows us to develop on a more solid and sustainable foundation without changing how Manus operates or makes decisions.”

Today, the launch of Manus Agents marks a further democratization of this technology. Users simply click Connect in the Agents tab of the Manus workspace, scan the displayed QR code, and they can start chatting with their personal Manus Agents AI assistant in supported messaging apps—Telegram first, with WhatsApp, Messenger, and LINE support coming later this month—to get work done. This streamlined setup process significantly lowers the barrier to entry, allowing everyday consumers to easily experience the powerful capabilities of an AI assistant.

Full features, no compromises

The Manus team emphasized that this is not a lightweight chatbot add-on, but rather a complete Manus experience, including deep reasoning, multi-step task execution, and tool usage.

In instant messaging apps such as Telegram, Manus Agents can:

First, launch multi-step tasks or Skills and return results directly in the chat conversation. Whether it’s data research, data processing, or generating PDF files, users don’t need to switch applications.

Second, it supports multimedia interaction. Users can send voice messages, photos, and documents to the agent for transcription, image editing, and other processing. This means users can snap a photo of a document and have Manus help organize the content, or record a voice memo and have the agent convert it into structured notes.

Third, personalization settings. Users can choose the agent’s response style based on their needs, such as concise, structured, or more conversational, so the interaction experience better matches their personal preferences.

Fourth, model selection flexibility. Users can switch between Manus 1.6 Max and Manus 1.6 Lite: the former is suited for complex tasks requiring deep reasoning and creative work, while the latter is optimized for fast-response everyday needs.

Manus’s suggested use cases include weekly meeting preparation, creating personal avatars, and even generating videos from a single photo, demonstrating the broad potential of AI agents in the creative and productivity fields.

Manus Agents Platform Expansion Roadmap

Currently, Manus Agents is live on Telegram and available to all Manus users across subscription tiers. As one of the first supported platforms, Telegram’s open API architecture and global user base of 800 million provide an ideal testing and promotion environment for Manus Agents. However, this is only the starting point of Manus’s instant messaging integration strategy. Manus co-founder Zhang Tao revealed on social media that the deployment of Manus Agents on more platforms will be accelerated over the next 30 days. The supported list includes mainstream messaging tools such as WhatsApp, LINE, Slack, and Discord, covering a wide range of use cases from personal social communication to enterprise collaboration.

Oh, and this is just the beginning 😏

Coming up:

– Create your own specialized agents and plug them into any group chat.
– Landing on WhatsApp, LINE, Slack, Discord very soon.
– Native Windows & Mac apps that let Manus operate your computer (think our Browser Operator… but way… https://t.co/zGWcPeYXDr

In addition, Manus has planned further feature expansion:

  • group chat integration capabilityUsers will be able to create specialized agents and insert them into any group conversation. This feature is especially valuable for team collaboration: imagine a project management agent that resides in a work group, tracking task progress, organizing meeting summaries, or helping assign work.
  • native desktop applicationNative apps for Windows and Mac are coming soon, allowing Manus to integrate more deeply with operating system features and deliver a smoother user experience.
  • PC operation skillsThe most forward-looking update is enabling Manus to directly control the user’s computer. This means AI agents will evolve from “assisting with thinking” to “acting on behalf of users,” capable of actually operating software, filling out forms, organizing file systems, and more—once authorized.

point of view

The launch of Manus Agents represents a key step in Meta’s shift of AI agent technology from “experimental tool” to “everyday infrastructure.” Although AI assistants like OpenClaw have emerged recently, OpenClaw’s setup and configuration aren’t beginner-friendly, and it still poses a technical barrier for users without technical skills or a spare computer. Manus Agents lowers these barriers through native integration with messaging apps: users don’t need to understand APIs or configure servers—they can simply scan a QR code to get started (though a subscription is required; OpenClaw, meanwhile, also needs a more capable paid AI model to deliver better results).

Looking ahead, the trajectory of Manus Agents may signal a paradigm shift in human-computer interaction. When AI agents can be controlled through the chat apps we use every day, the vision of “conversation as interface” will come much closer to reality. The question is no longer what we can make AI do, but how many decisions we are willing to let AI make for us.
