FCC filings show Google might unveil six Pixel 11 series phones in August

In the tech world, some traditions never change, and one of them is Google’s poor track record at keeping hardware under wraps. Every summer, someone leaves a prototype in a coffee shop, or a retailer’s database leaks prices ahead of the launch. This year is no exception—nearly all Pixel 11 series models have quietly shown up in FCC regulatory filings.

FCC documents show Google may unveil 6 Pixel 11 series phones in August

According toData from the FCC websiteThe modems Google submitted for review include model numbers GPQQ7, GUJ0N, G7SWN, GBC0H, and G4HCD, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold carries the codename GZDQ6. There is widespread speculation that Google may fully abandon Samsung’s modems this year in favor of MediaTek’s M90. This represents a significant shift, as the previous Exynos-based modems were frequently criticized for overheating issues and unstable signal reception. MediaTek’s new solution employs more advanced algorithms, enabling more stable connectivity even in areas with poor coverage from older base stations.

Other details can also be seen from the documents, such as the Pixel 11 series supporting NTN NB-IoT and being enabled on bands like B23 and B255, indicating that the new devices will have satellite emergency communication capabilities. Among the five certified models, only three support Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Thread protocol. While all models support 5G mmWave and NFC, the GPQQ7 and GUJ0N lack the high-frequency UWB component found only in the Pro series.

The Pixel 11 is still at least a month away from its official debut (Google has announced that its “Made by Google” 2026 event will be held on August 12), but leaks about its internal specs are already everywhere. According to reports, the Tensor G6, codenamed Malibu, uses TSMC’s 2nm process with a focus on better battery life. Meanwhile, information from Amazon’s premature listing reveals that the base storage of the Pixel 11 starts at 256GB.

In terms of design, the Pixel 11’s camera bar appears to have been redesigned, and it includes an RGB notification light called Pixel Glow. There’s word it might be used for Google Assistant visual cues, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Some also think it’s just a more recognizable flashlight or camera module auxiliary light. After all, this comes from leaks, so we should remain skeptical. The Pro series may use Samsung’s latest M16 OLED material, providing higher peak brightness for improved outdoor readability.

In terms of pricing, the Pixel 11 is expected to start at $899, slightly higher than its predecessor’s $799; the Pixel 11 Pro could land at $1,099, while the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL might reach $1,299. As for the most expensive Pixel 11 Pro Fold, the estimated price remains a steep $1,899.
