During last night’s Direct presentation, Nintendo officially unveiled another teaser trailer for *The Super Mario Galaxy Movie*, set to be released this year, and gave the first glimpse of “Yoshi,” who will appear in this sequel.

Since hints about this iconic character’s upcoming appearance were already planted in the post-credits scene of the first *Super Mario Movie*, many fans were quite curious as to why he didn’t show up in the previous trailer, and some even began to wonder whether Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment still planned to feature this character at all.

In response to this question, series producer Shigeru Miyamoto has consistently emphasized that fans will indeed see Yoshi in *Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie*, and this brand-new trailer confirms it outright.
The trailer opens with Mario and Luigi heading to the desert village that appeared in the original game, *Super Mario Odyssey*, to help the local residents repair a pipe. However, upon entering the cave where the pipe is located, they immediately spot Yoshi. The trailer also showcases a wealth of exciting footage from this sequel and introduces another character from the original game: Catherine.

However, according to actor Chris Pratt, in addition to the new characters already confirmed—such as Yoshi, Catherine, Bowser Jr., and Rosetta—fans can look forward to even more surprises in the film. As a result, many fans are hoping to see characters like Wario and Luigi in the movie.
“Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie” is scheduled to be released on April 1.
