The ninth main sequel of the “Poltergeist” series, “Poltergeist: Requiem”, will be officially released on February 27, but various rumors about this game seem to have not stopped yet. According to new rumors circulating in the community recently, in addition to Leon Kennedy, who has been confirmed to appear, players seem to have a chance to see the return of the two classic characters “Ada King” and “Chris Redfield” in this sequel. A well-known whistleblower in the community also recently talked about this new rumor. However, his response may be a bit disappointing.

Before it was confirmed that Leon would appear in “Castle of Evil: Requiem”, various rumors and leaked information pointed to this possibility, and after it was confirmed, the credibility of various other rumors also increased. According to the news that has been confirmed so far, Leon and the new Grace Ashcroft are the two protagonists of this game, but in addition, fans of the series are still looking forward to the surprise appearance of other familiar faces.

However, such expectations appear to have been dampened recently. Well-known leaker of the “Castle of Evil” series Dusk Golem Recently, he responded to a rumor that mistakenly cited him as a source, and clearly denied the statement that Ada Wong and Chris would appear in “The Evil Dead: Requiem”.
According to Dusk Golem’s response, he does not think Chris and Ada Wong will directly appear in “Castle 9”. In response to subsequent questions, Dusk Golem also reminded players that the producer of “Castle 9” has made it clear that Chris will not appear in this sequel. Even so, he still said that players may have the opportunity to see Easter eggs related to these two characters in the game through files or photos.

On the other hand, Dusk Golem still said that although he has heard rumors that “early characters from “Castle of Evil” may make a surprise appearance in the future “Castle of Evil 9” DLC, based on the content of this game, Capcom does not seem to intend for King Ada and Chris to appear directly.
It is worth noting that even for a whistleblower like Dusk Golem, who has had many accurate hits in the past, his claims are still rumors and speculation until Capcom officially announces the exact news. Therefore, except for the characters who have been confirmed to appear, and excluding Chris, who has been clearly denied by the official, the outside world is still unable to be 100% sure of the final character lineup.

After “The Resident Evil 7” and “The Resident Evil 8: Village” focused on the new character “Ethan Winters”, many old players are looking forward to “The Resident Evil 9” to once again focus on the old characters of the series, and Leon’s appearance is indeed in line with fans’ expectations. As for which characters fans will see in “The Resident Evil 9” or subsequent DLC, it remains to be seen.
“Castle Evil: Requiem” is expected to be released on February 27th for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
