Watching a big screen in a small home is becoming a new solution for home entertainment! OVO’s Warpple series has launched the new “Ace Light Theater” Warpple LA9 Pro, with a throw ratio squeezed down to 0.8:1. The company claims it is the shortest-throw LCD projector in the history of LCD projector technology, capable of projecting a 100-inch image from just 1.8 meters. It also integrates official Google TV, a 90-degree flexible gimbal, and full smart correction. The launch price is NT$9,999, and it is currently accepting backer pre-orders on the HiHi crowdfunding platform, with a 40% discount bringing it to just NT$5,999.

0.8:1 throw ratio, projects a 100-inch image from 1.8 meters
Ministry of Finance statistics show that over the past 10 years, average floor area per household has shrunk in more than 80% of counties and cities across Taiwan, with the national average falling from 42.3 ping to 40.7 ping. Taipei City had the largest decline at 7.2%. As living space has become smaller, the practicality of short-throw projectors has come to the fore.
Compared with Warpple’s own previous-generation models, the LA3 has a throw ratio of 0.9:1 and can project a 100-inch image from 2 meters away; the high-brightness LA8 is 1.0:1 and requires 2.2 meters; standard-throw projectors require 2.8 meters. The LA9 Pro is the first high-brightness model to break below 0.8:1, projecting a 100-inch image from just 1.8 meters, and at the same distance the image can be up to 2.4 times larger. OurUnboxing and hands-on testThis also confirms that a 100-inch image can be projected from a distance of about 1.77 meters.

Google TV and smart calibration, all in one step.
The LA9 Pro comes with official Google TV, so you can use licensed streaming platforms like Netflix and YouTube right after powering it on, without needing an external TV box. Its display specs include 1080p resolution, up to 900 ANSI lumens brightness, and a 30,000-hour lamp life, and it supports 4K decoding and HDR dynamic contrast.

Dimensions: 195×153.3×140.4 mm, about the size of a book, and weight 1.1 kg. The base has a built-in flexible gimbal adjustable up to 90 degrees, so switching from projecting onto a white wall to the ceiling can be done with one hand. The correction features integrate autofocus, auto keystone correction, auto screen fit, and auto obstacle avoidance; after powering on and placing it, it automatically straightens the image. For connectivity, it is equipped with 2.4G/5G dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and HDMI, USB-A, and AUX audio output, allowing you to connect external game consoles, laptops, or speakers.

Warpple Product Director Hsu Chia-ming said: “We hope projectors are not just high-end devices for a select few enthusiasts, but an entertainment option that can truly become part of everyday life for the general public. While retaining core specifications such as Google TV, high brightness, and a flexible gimbal, the LA9 Pro also achieves a lighter, more compact body and a more affordable price.”
Warpple LA9 Pro crowdfunding has reached 435% of its target, with OVO’s Thanksgiving Event kicking off at the same time.
