YouTube Premium’s latest price hike is here! Monthly fees in multiple countries are going up, with increases of up to around 15%.

YouTube Premium just keeps getting more expensive! After the United States led a new wave of price increases this past April, some markets subsequently adjusted their prices, but only in a very small number of countries. Now the scope of increases has expanded further. According to foreign media reports, Google has begun raising YouTube Premium subscription fees in multiple countries around the world, and users in several countries have already received price hike notifications, with the highest increase reaching 15%. There’s no news for Taiwan yet, but people should be mentally prepared.

YouTube Premium is raising prices by 10–15% across multiple countries. The increase takes effect starting September 23, applying to the next billing cycle. It’s not yet known whether Taiwan will be affected.

According to a report by foreign media outlet 9to5GoogleGoogle is sending price adjustment notices to YouTube Premium subscribers in multiple countries. Monthly fees will be raised, though the increase varies by region, generally falling between 10 and 15%.

The effective date is September 23, but not everything will go up on that exact day. The new prices will only apply starting from the first billing cycle on or after September 23. So if your billing date is the 5th of each month, September 5 will still be at the old price, and it will only become more expensive starting October 5. As for annual/prepaid plans, the validity period of any plan you’ve already purchased will not be affected. New prices will only apply when you renew after the plan expires.

In this era of constantly rising prices, paying annually seems more cost-effective.

The regions and prices named by 9to5Google are as follows:

Region Plan original price new price increase
Some European countries Personal €13.99 €15.99 Approximately +14.3%
Finland personal €14.99 €16.99 Approximately +13.3%
Romania Individual RON 29.00 RON 32.00 Approximately +10.3%
Singapore Personal SG$13.98 SG$15.98 Approximately +14.3%
Singapore Family SG$27.98 SG$31.98 Approx. +14.3%

This price hike is likely following the US price increase earlier this year. Google’s pricing adjustments over the past few years have almost always followed the pattern of “the US moves first, and other regions follow a few months later.”

The following are the price changes for various YouTube Premium plans in the US in recent years:

American plan 2018~2022 After 2023 adjustment Starting from April 2026
individual $11.99 $13.99 $15.99
Family (up to 6 people) $17.99 $22.99 $26.99
Student $6.99 $7.99 $8.99
Premium Lite — $7.99 (only arrived in the US in 2025) $8.99
YouTube Music Premium $9.99 $10.99 $11.99
Individual annual payment — $139.99 $159.99

The first price adjustment in Taiwan in recent years was in August 2023. The individual plan went from NT$179 to NT$199, and the student plan from NT$109 to NT$119—both increases were around 10%. But the family plan jumped all at once from NT$269 to NT$399, a one-time increase of NT$130, or 48%. iOS is even more extreme: the family plan went from NT$350 to NT$520.

The second time was April 2025, but this time it adjusted the family plan: the Android/web version went from 399 yuan to 479 yuan, iOS went from 520 yuan to 630 yuan, while the personal and student plans stayed the same.

Taiwan Plan Launched in 2019 Adjusted August 2023 2025/4 Adjustment Cumulative increase
Personal (Android/Web) NT$179 NT$199 Unadjusted +11.2%
Personal (iOS) NT$230 NT$260 Unadjusted +13.0%
Home (Android/Web) NT$269 NT$399 NT$479 +78.1%
Family (iOS) NT$350 NT$520 NT$630 +80.0%
Student NT$109 NT$119 Unadjusted. +9.2%

Although there has been no news about this round of price increases in Taiwan, and Google Taiwan has not made an announcement, there are already two signals worth noting. First, Singapore is on the list this time, meaning the Asia-Pacific market is also within the scope of price adjustments. Second, Taiwan’s individual plans have not been raised in three years. If Taiwan does raise prices in the future, the probability of individual plans being adjusted upward is higher than that of family plans, which have already been raised twice.
