Trend Technology’s consumer business group TrendLife announced the launch of TrendLife Kaleida™, the world’s first AI solution built from scratch with whole-family safety at its core. Through a single family AI account, every family member can have their own dedicated AI, with built-in security protection, personal privacy, and parental control guidelines. According to TrendLife’s latest “AI and Family Life” survey, over 60% of families in Taiwan are already using AI tools, a rate higher than the global average. However, parents’ concerns about existing AI tools remain, including personal data privacy and security, over-reliance on AI, and the lack of protection mechanisms designed for families—Kaleida’s launch is a direct response to these needs.

Current State of AI Usage in Taiwanese Families

In July 2026, TrendLife conducted an online survey of 6,695 consumers across Australia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. The results showed that when families use AI tools, the top concerns among parents were, in order: personal data privacy and security (56%), family members becoming overly dependent on AI (45%), AI models lacking family-specific features or safeguards (24%), and the cost of AI tools or subscriptions (21%).

Among the 1,037 respondents in Taiwan, 80% are worried about personal data shared with AI being leaked, stored, or misused. In addition, nearly 70% are concerned that AI will affect children’s ability to think independently. “Helping children learn or develop new skills” was the task respondents most wanted AI to assist with (45%), followed by “keeping family members safer online” (38%), and third, “coordinating care or support for aging parents or relatives” (35%).

This survey reveals a paradox: Taiwanese families show high acceptance of AI tools, yet concerns about safety and privacy are also rising in tandem. Most existing AI tools are designed with the individual as the basic unit, lacking family-level management mechanisms and security safeguards, leaving parents to bear the responsibility of supervision and protection on their own.

Kaleida’s Five Core Features

TrendLife Kaleida includes five core features, designed directly to address the concerns identified in the survey.

Safety protectionCan block scam calls, filter phishing emails, and monitor whether family members’ personal information appears on the dark web. When a family member faces fraud risk, it proactively notifies relatives and the family administrator. Every action Kaleida takes undergoes security checks.

Privacy Protection ShieldBefore personal data is sent to AI models, Kaleida detects and hides personally identifiable information. User questions are still processed, but no identifiable information is transmitted. The survey shows that 80% of respondents in Taiwan are concerned about personal data shared with AI being leaked, stored, or misused, with 14% saying they are very concerned, 24% fairly concerned, and 42% somewhat concerned.

AI Smart SelectionOne subscription plan gives you access to multiple AI models. Kaleida automatically routes each request to the most suitable model, so users don’t have to decide which model fits which task.

Smart Learning CompanionAn AI mode designed specifically for children, cultivating independent thinking by encouraging them to explore beyond just answering questions. Parents receive weekly insight reports on how their children use AI to think. Survey results show that nearly 70% of respondents in Taiwan are concerned about AI affecting children’s ability to think independently, with 11.28% very concerned and 35.68% somewhat concerned.

Home AI Engine(Preview version): With a family AI account, each family member can set up their own AI profile according to their needs. Each member’s profile operates independently, but they can configure what information is shared with other members, such as calendars, needs, and plans.

Subscription Plans and Pricing

TrendLife Kaleida offers three subscription plans: Lite, Standard, and Plus, with monthly fees starting at NT$315, available for four family members. A 14-day free trial is also currently available.

Trend Micro TrendLife consumer business head Guo Dengxiang stated: “AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday family life, but there are still no AI tools on the market designed with the family at the core. Every parent hopes their family can benefit from AI, yet also worries about sacrificing personal privacy, affecting children’s ability to think independently, or increasing household expenses. Kaleida was designed from the very beginning to address all of these concerns at once.”

Guo Dengxiang further explained: “Kaleida is family-centric, creating a dedicated AI for each member. It not only understands individual needs but also coordinates the family’s daily life and requirements, evolving AI from a personal assistant into a smart partner for the entire household. At the same time, Trend Micro’s security protection engine, which has safeguarded customers for nearly four decades, is built into every Kaleida interaction, providing full protection throughout.”

TrendLife Kaleida officially launched on August 19, and interested users can apply for a 14-day free trial on the official website.
