The LEGO Company announced earlier this year that it would launch a cross-border cooperation with Konami and launch a series of “Yu-Gi-Oh”-themed LEGO sets. As for what the final product looks like, it will be selected from a series of player creations. Just after the cooperation event was announced, LEGO invited LEGO builders from all over the world who love “Yu-Gi-Oh!” to work together to create a set with the theme of this classic card. After that, LEGO officially received a total of 250 submissions, and after a period of selection, the final five were officially announced.

The five finalists have now passed Lego Ideas The website is officially open to the public. This is a platform that allows any LEGO player to submit set ideas, and the recently launched “The Legend of Zelda” LEGO set is rumored to be launched through a similar method, but this statement has not yet been confirmed.

Whenever LEGO wants to create a themed set for a new series from a third party, the official will hold a similar creation competition to decide which classic elements should be given priority to be added to the official LEGO set. What is not surprising at all is that fans can see many iconic elements in the design of the five finalist “Yu-Gi-Oh!” sets, among which the “Blue-Eyes White Dragon” alone appears in three sets.

Among them, the one that has attracted the most attention from fans is the “Duel Display” designed by player Brian b59124. This 595-piece set consists of LEGO figures of “Blue-Eyes White Dragon” and Kaiba Raito, plus a slate of this classic battle monster. Not only that, even the base can be disassembled to display Blue-Eyes White Dragon’s signature 3000 attack power value.

“Duel of Eternal Rivals” and “Duel Across the Millennia” created by Brick_flex and Moccermommey both present the fateful showdown between the Blue-Eyed White Dragon and the protagonist Muto Yugi’s signature monster “Dark Magician”. As for the remaining two “Summoning Slifer the Sky Dragon” and “Exodia” designed by DarkAnimal and Step_on_a_Brick, they reproduce the scene of summoning “Osiris’ Sky Dragon” and “Dark Archmage”.

Interested players can go to the Lego Ideas website to vote before April 28, and Lego officials currently expect to reveal the winning work on September 10 this year. This set will be made into an official LEGO set and mass-produced and sold, becoming the first “Yu-Gi-Oh” themed LEGO product in history. Although the final product may differ in some details of the design, the creator’s core concepts and architecture will be retained. Not only that, but the winning creator will also receive 1% of the total net sales of the product.

In addition to “Yu-Gi-Oh!”, Lego officials are also holding a similar event for “Pokémon Trading Cards”Activity, participants have until May 6 to submit their Pokémon card-themed LEGO creations, and as many as 106 players have already shared their creations.
