Google itself, meanwhile, has never rolled out its own first-party offering. Known specification details include model number GA12506, along with the first revealed color name “Fog Light” (霧光色). Like Apple’s AirTag, the Pixel Tag body appears to have no built-in keyring hole or attachment mechanism, so it is expected to be used with official or third-party protective cases or lanyards.
The source of this leak is multiple European e-commerce websites, including Sharp’s online store in Germany, J&T Vertrieb, and BigPartner in Slovenia. The product pages list models and colors along with product images, with a level of detail far exceeding typical online rumor descriptions. The product description confirms the Pixel Tag uses Google’s “Find My Device” tracking network, which has now been renamed to Find Hub.
Find Hub network has been active recently. Google launched a feature in March in partnership with airlines, allowing users to share their tracker’s location with partner airlines to help recover lost luggage. Participating airlines include Air India, China Airlines, multiple carriers under the Lufthansa Group, and Turkish Airlines, among others. The feature is also integrated with baggage tracking systems WorldTracer and NetTracer, and Google has partnered with Samsonite so that select luggage comes with built-in Find Hub tracking capabilities from the factory. If the Pixel Tag launches as scheduled, it will be Google’s first own-brand hardware to connect to this network.
