Players who want to upgrade their graphics cards in the past few years seem to have to wait. China’s graphics card market has recently experienced a very strange “overnight price adjustment” situation. The selling price one day was hundreds or even thousands of yuan higher the next day, and some products were directly removed from the shelves and stopped by Tonglu. And this wave of price changes not only affects the NVIDIA RTX 50 series, but also the AMD Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel Arc graphics cards have also experienced price fluctuations to varying degrees.

China’s graphics card market skyrocketed overnight! RTX 50 and RX 9000 are all affected, and channels have begun to stock up and stop selling.
According to foreign media Wccftech reportChina’s graphics card market has suddenly experienced a large-scale price adjustment recently. The channel selling prices of various NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards have increased significantly. Intel Arc has also experienced price fluctuations, with the RTX 50 series being the most obviously affected.
This wave of price increases is mainly related to the continued increase in the cost of GDDR6 and GDDR7 display memory. Brand agents and retail channels have begun to re-quote prices, suspend shipments, and there are even reports of stockpiling and reluctance to sell.
After sorting through JD.com, Taobao, Pinduoduo and other platforms, Wccftech found that the price of RTX 5090/5090D on JD.com was 22.5% higher than the market low price of the day, the RTX 5070 Ti was 21.8% higher, and the RTX 5070 was 16.2% higher. The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, 16GB and RTX 5060 are also about 15% higher on JD.com.

The Wccftech report also mentioned that the price of an RTX 5090 desktop computer in the official Asus store jumped from 55,500 yuan to 59,000 yuan in one day. Channel insiders pointed out that although NVIDIA original manufacturers have reflected an increase of 5,000 to 6,000 yuan, the superimposed increase in ASUS terminal selling prices exceeds the range of original manufacturers. This move has also been interpreted by some consumers as taking advantage of the price premium and passing on the responsibility for the price increase to the original manufacturers.
Mid-range cards are similar. Multiple models of MSI RTX 5060 have increased by about 14.3% to 15.4% in a week. A certain RTX 5060 Ti 16GB was said to be available for 3,229 yuan a month ago. Recently, it has been sold for 4,999 yuan, an increase of more than 50%.
A similar situation occurs with the AMD Radeon RX 9000 series.
Comparing different platforms with the day’s low price, the price difference between RX 9070 XT, RX 9070, RX 9070 GRE, and RX 9060 XT is about 14.3% to 28.8%. Among them, JD.com’s RX 9060 XT 16GB is 28.8% higher than the day’s low price.
The price difference of Intel Arc B570 on Taobao reaches up to 20.6%, while the price difference of Arc B580 is about 3.3%.
What’s even more exaggerated is that even old graphics cards that are not the main force in the market are also affected. The lowest price of RTX 3050 in the Chinese market is RMB 2,199, with an average price of about RMB 2,500 to RMB 2,600. The GT 1030, which originally cost less than 50 US dollars, is also quoted for 629 yuan, close to 100 US dollars:

This also shows that this time it is not just the price increase of new GDDR7 cards, but also the old products of GDDR6, GDDR5, and even DDR4 display memory are also affected.
BenchLife Previous reports have mentioned that NVIDIA has sent a new round of GPU Kit price increase notices to AIC partners. In addition to the RTX 50 series using Blackwell architecture and equipped with GDDR7, other GeForce products using GDDR6 are also included.
However, this is not yet an official announcement from NVIDIA. China’s response this time can be said to be very fast. Some graphics card brand factories have closed warehouses and suspended shipments, waiting for re-pricing. Some graphics cards have also been temporarily removed from the shelves on JD.com and other platforms.
Many retailers and resellers are starting to stockpile graphics cards, knowing that DRAM memory prices are expected to rise further. Instead of selling graphics cards at low prices now, they might as well wait until prices are higher in the coming months to earn more.

As for whether this price increase will affect Taiwan? We don’t know yet, but for those who are eager to buy graphics cards, if they see a good price, it is recommended to buy first to be safer. After all, you will never see a “price drop” in a short time. Some analysts even warned that DRAM may face a 40%~50% increase in the next two quarters.
