Google Maps’ latest feature lets you no longer have to drive around in circles to find the door

“After bypassing the border outside the city, I still didn’t say goodbye…” Even though “going in circles》This song wants to present the concept that wasting time can also be a kind of romance, which is really beautiful. But if today’s role becomes a situation where you need to go to an appointment on time, but you can’t find the entrance, you can only keep going in circles. I believe that no matter what, it would be hard to imagine what a wonderful experience this would be.

In order to avoid various problems caused by unnecessary and unexpected turns, including emotional and work problems, Google Maps, which many people love to use, has now been discovered and is testing a thoughtful map function. This will effectively prevent you from wasting time looking for entrances and exits.

Foreign media Android Police discovered a new map display feature in Google Maps v11.17.0101. It will automatically mark the entrances and exits of local buildings for users, so that people can confirm relevant information in advance – this will be a very convenient function for planning directions when using public transportation or taxi navigation.

Using this feature is quite simple, just zoom in and zoom in on the map and you will see green signs similar to escape doors starting to appear around the 2D outline of the building – maybe a dot or an arrow-marked entrance icon.

At present, the author has not seen similar functions on the device he currently has. It’s unclear whether this feature will be rolled out across the board. However, according to tests conducted by foreign media, even in devices and countries and regions that have enabled this function, there are still situations where some scenic spots and buildings do not support entrance and exit signs.

It can be seen that even after testing has begun, the Google Maps team should be gradually adding map attraction information in this area. Some people have even found that the entrance and exit signs may be misplaced – this… I can’t say much except that it’s free, but I suggest that people who are really worried about not finding the entrance or having trouble circling can refer to this information and also check the pictures or reviews of relevant attractions.

Google, which has previously developed Bard and Gemini AI, has also begun to integrate these empathetic AIs into their signature map navigation service Google Maps. Through the “Ask about” experimental function of the latest Generative AI Experiment, you can directly ask various conditions in the Google Maps service in spoken language and ask Google Maps to analyze the map data to provide corresponding recommended answers.

This time, the experimental function brings more thoughtful information to the picture and information part for users’ reference. It must be said that the Google Maps team is indeed very active in providing users with richer related functions. I really look forward to these functions being available in Taiwan soon.
