Android Nearby Share will be renamed Quick Share after being caught. Is this another tribute to the rhythm of AirDrop?

In the early days, we jokingly called Android Nearby Share a close homage to AirDrop. Now it has been revealed that it seems that even Samsung’s services, which Google has cooperated with a lot in recent years, may have a “name collision” problem. Android Nearby Share will be renamed Quick Share after being caught. Is this another tribute to the rhythm of AirDrop?

According to the currentDeveloper Kamila shared on social networking sites, displaying information dug from Google Play Services app v23.50.13. Google seems to be announcing that “Nearby Share is now Quick Share” through the Nearby Share service, which is a service that can quickly share data with nearby Android devices. It will be renamed “Quick Share (Quick Share)”, a similar service name that Samsung users are very familiar with.

Chosen at the time when Samsung’s latest conference is about to take place, Google’s actions (although it was captured) are considered by many media to be equivalent to a strategy of further integration of two similar services in the Android system. If this future comes true, does it also mean that the support for shared functions between each other will be greatly enhanced?

It has to be said, at least based on the screenshots Kamila has shared so far. This new “Google” version of the Quick Share interface is really similar to Samsung’s version. On the other hand, seeing how closely the smart watch system works, there is even news coming out that other brands may be a bit  Taste Both of them feel that they “can’t play anymore”. This will allow Samsung to have a certain degree of leading cooperation in certain Android functions. Although it is not common in the history of Android, it is also a win-win direction.

But we can’t rule out that Google really just changed the name willfully and didn’t care what Samsung’s name was. If this happens, it will obviously cause Samsung users to go from “not sure whether to open Nearby Share or Quick Share when sharing files” to a confusing situation like “Which Quick Share should I open?”

Basically, I don’t really believe that Google would be so willful. So if the two brands really want to have deeper cooperation on the Android quick sharing function. Personally, I think this should be the rhythm of preparing to work together to create further features to compete with the new AirDrop experience of the Apple ecosystem, right?

Does that mean that changing “Nearby” may mean that future sharing will be able to break the distance restriction? Could it be that AirDrop’s new feature of resuming transfers over the network will soon be followed by the Android system? I don’t know if everyone is looking forward to such a development.
