Perplexity Often collaborate with some companies to give away free Perplexity Pro memberships, such as the previousTaiwan Mobile, and slightly earlier PayPal Announced a partnership with Perplexity, not only allowing PayPal users to claim a free one-year membership, but also giving priority access to the Comet AI browser, which was originally only available to the most expensive Perplexity Max members.

PayPal offers free one-year access to Perplexity Pro and Comet AI browser priority access.

Recently PayPal at the Official News CenterAnnounced that Venmo and PayPal users in the US and select global markets can get a one-year plan worth $200 for free. Perplexity Pro Subscription, and get early access to Perplexity’s newly launched AI-powered Comet browser.

Comet is an AI browser launched by Perplexity in July this year, with a built-in AI assistant that can provide real-time answers, summarize the current webpage content, and support features like automatic translation. It can also understand and organize content across multiple browser tabs, offering integrated summaries or comparative information, which is quite useful. More importantly, it also features AI agent capabilities that can autonomously execute tasks, such as adding items to a shopping cart and completing checkout, or unsubscribing from promotional emails.

This browser was originally only available to Perplexity Max subscribers at $200 per month, and now PayPal members get early access — a pretty significant perk. But this also seems to suggest that the Comet AI browser is about to be opened up to Perplexity Pro users?

US PayPal users can register for Perplexity Pro directly in the PayPal App starting today, while users in select international markets can activate the offer via email or a dedicated event page. PayPal has not disclosed which countries are included in these so-called select international markets, but according to TechCrunch, the offer has already been activated in some countries.

There’s another important point when claiming: it’s limited to users who are first-time subscribers of Perplexity Pro.

My PayPal is a Taiwan account, and I can open the Perplexity Pro promo page normally, but my test failed at the end, showing that I’m already a Perplexity Pro member. I’m not sure whether Taiwan isn’t open yet (or isn’t on this list), or if I previously accidentally set up a PayPal payment subscription for Perplexity Pro.

In any case, if you’re interested in giving it a try, remember to go to your PayPal payments and turn off Perplexity’s automatic payment, even if you don’t succeed. The instructions below will show you how to do it.

Entering PayPal’s Perplexity Pro offer screenThen, click “Claim 12 months of Perplexity Pro”:

Log in to your Perplexity account, and after that you’ll also be asked to log in to your PayPal account and enable automatic payments:

Then the screen showing 12 months of free Pro will appear, with details below indicating how long the free period lasts and when the next charge will occur (one year later). Tap “Accept Offer”:

How do I cancel Perplexity’s PayPal automatic payment?

After logging into your PayPal account, click Settings in the top right corner, go to the Payments menu, and below you can find the “Automatic Payments” setting:

Find Perplexity AI, Inc. on the left side:

Confirm whether the status shows “Enabled”; if so, please click Cancel on the right:

Confirm again to cancel automatic payment:

When the status changes to inactive, that means you’ve successfully canceled Perplexity’s automatic payments:
