There are more and more experiences that AI can help achieve. On Google’s side, there is not only the fast-responsive and talkative Bard AI. Earlier, we saw the Immersive View function that integrates street view and aerial photography into an immersive navigation preview experience with the assistance of AI. Now it is not only confirmed that it will appear in the iOS and Android versions this week, but also the supported cities will include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo and Venice.

Although Taiwan is not included, at least Tokyo, which is currently very popular for tourism, should have a good chance of using this immersive preview experience, right?

The official blog provides many interface demonstrations of this function this time. Basically, just select the rectangular preview box in the lower left corner that looks like Street View while navigating – but this time it will be animated. You can see that the navigation screen instantly transforms into an immersive screen like an aerial shot. The left and right turns and blue routes similar to the real-life navigation will be available for users to refer to the possible appearance of the surrounding route.

This immersive navigation preview experience will display the current progress bar at the bottom, and you can also select the time you want to preview at a specific location. The coolest thing is that when the time changes in the immersive navigation interface, the weather, traffic flow, and even light and shadow changes in the morning and dusk will be directly displayed on the screen – even the sunset can be previewed in the interface, which is pretty cool.

That is to say, you can also find from this interface that the virtual vehicles in the screen seem to be “fused” by AI, so some cars look like the backgrounds of many AI-generated pictures, with a wonderful texture made of clay.

In this update, Google also demonstrated a Lens in Maps (formerly known as Search with Live View) function that allows you to easily preview surrounding points of interest through the lens – this function is available in Taipei this week! It was also mentioned that navigation information will also begin to have some improvements in various countries. Including personal expectations, the latest lane navigation experience at intersections will be gradually displayed in advance; the United States will also see HOV high-occupancy lane prompts in advance in the description of the navigation preview; the AI speed limit detection function will also be expanded to 20 countries.

a few days ago Google Taiwan on social platformsThe particularly outstanding charging pile Google Maps function also appears in this official blog update project – you can more easily find charging speed, plug specifications and other information. Friends who drive electric vehicles can also take advantage of it!
