For those who like to go abroad, many of them should already know that there is a Google Flights flight query function that is very convenient for checking flight prices. But I believe there are many people like the editor who always feel that the flights they track every time are basically rising and not falling – sometimes they complain that their luck is always rising no matter how they choose, and how come they can’t use it where they can make a profit (fall).

Maybe to get rid of such an impression. With its recent update, Google Flights/Tickets is actively trying to assert itself as the best place for everyone to find flight information – how aggressive is it? Regardless of the new features to be introduced this time, Google flights/tickets have actually launched the lowest price guarantee function in the United States. If you buy more, you can refund the price difference through Google Pay… Although this is only an early pilot project and currently only supports flights departing from the United States, it can be seen that Google’s confidence in its flight price predictions has reached a very high level.

For its own flight/ticket query and tracking functions, Google has begun to add a prediction function that is “suspected” with the power of Bard AI.

Google Flights already has a flight query function with a fairly intuitive interface. However, the subsequent query page will also directly give you the “cheapest booking time period” information in addition to the original price comparison and chart.

That’s right, instead of seeing the tracking returns of thousands and thousands of price increases, it’s better to keep beating your heart and vomiting blood. Google will now use past historical fares to help predict the likely time period when the fare you are querying will hit its lowest price.

The forecast also includes information on how far in advance to buy tickets and how much cheaper they might be. Allowing users to decide whether to take a gamble based on their budget and whether they can buy air tickets at the cheapest time – yes, don’t forget this risk! Everyone will want to grab it if it’s cheap.

Using this feature is very simple. When your Google Flights flight/ticket query function supports this feature, you will be able to see the window that originally displayed historical prices on the ticket candidate list, with new information about the cheapest period and recommended ticket purchase time. This information can also be expanded to view more information.

I recommend that if you have seen it recently, you can open it to take a look at the information predicted by Google through machine learning, and observe whether the price will actually drop as they said. Google also shared this year’s flight trends. Although it mainly uses the United States as the “starting point”, it mentioned that the average air ticket will reach its lowest price about 71 days before departure.

As for the earlier part, I guessed that it was through the power of Bard, because in front of the prompted function, you can see the flashing icon in front of Google’s generative AI chatbot when it replies. It is not surprising that these fare trends can be sorted out with the help of AI artificial intelligence.

However, when I directly checked with the Google Bard robot, it clearly said “no”. The feature is mentioned as “using a machine learning model to analyze large amounts of historical fare data to predict future fare trends. The model takes into account many factors, including routes, departure dates, departure times, and other factors.”
