Generally speaking, game developers will hope that players will buy them at the original price, especially for independent games, which can be sold as a set. However, recently there is a typing battle royale game “Final Sentence” on Steam. The developer is so generous that he wrote “DON’T BUY THIS GAME” in the store’s community, reminding players not to buy it now. This is not because the game will be released, nor is it going to be removed from the shelves, but “Final Sentence” will be on special offer soon. The developer hopes that players who have not yet bought it will wait until the discount starts before buying, so that they can save more money.

The developer of Steam typing battle royale “Final Sentence” tells players to “don’t buy it yet”! The reason is that the special price is coming soon

Final Sentence is a PC game developed by Button Mash and published by Polden Publishing, launching on Steam on April 9, 2026. Its gameplay is very special. Simply put, it combines “typing speed” and “battle royale”.

Players will be locked in a dark metal hangar with a typewriter in front of them and a loaded revolver pointed at their head. What you have to do is to input the text on the screen as quickly and correctly as possible. Every mistake may make this sentence your last sentence.

In terms of game modes, “Final Sentence” offers Classic Battle Royale with up to 40 players, Knockdown mode that eliminates players based on typing speed, Duel mode with 1-on-1 duel, and a single-player mode where you can practice with AI.

And developer Brusnika announced on May 26 Steam CommunityAn announcement was issued to remind players to “Don’t buy this game.” The title seemed like a negative announcement, but it was not. Instead, it informed players that the game would be “on sale” soon. Those who haven’t bought it yet should wait. They can wait until the discount starts before buying. Netizens said they were Buddhist-minded after seeing this:

However, the announcement did not directly state the exact discount range, only that players can save a few dollars. What’s even more interesting is that the developers also added that players can use the money they save to buy coffee or buy an air dust canister to clean the dust and food crumbs accumulated in the keyboard over the years.

This announcement was also hotly discussed on Reddit’s r/Steam section, with one player describing the developer’s approach as “This is probably the friendliest thing I’ve ever seen on Steam”:

This is literally the nicest thing I’ve seen on steam.

The reviews for Final Sentence are not bad so far, with both recent and all reviews receiving extremely positive reviews:

However, the biggest fear of this type of multiplayer game is that there are not enough people. Japanese media AUTOMATON mentioned that the peak number of people online at the same time on Steam in the past seven days was only more than 30 people. For the Battle Royale mode that supports up to 40 people, it is very easy to encounter a situation where there is not enough to complete one game.

SteamDB pageIt also shows that the number of people online for the game is relatively low, which means that although its reviews are not bad, player retention and activity are not enough:
