Simply put, when HomePod is used with iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 devices. If you want to play audio content from an app that is currently not supported by HomePod but is already installed on your phone or tablet. In the future you will simply speak commands to HomePod. Corresponding access requirements will appear between the smart speaker and Siri on the smart device, allowing you to easily complete the process. In the past, you had to select AirPlay on the device to transfer it to HomePod to play content on your phone.

Compared with the past, developers had to wait until developers cooperated with HomePod’s API to use this audio multimedia service on Apple’s smart speakers. In the future, as long as the relevant apps on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 support the SiriKit API, they can use the Siri interface on the device to respond to the user’s voice request for HomePod to access and play the content of the app on the mobile phone or tablet device.
