For players who have been paying attention to graphics card news or have planned to buy new graphics cards in the past few years, the skyrocketing prices should still be fresh in their minds. Since the cryptocurrency began to plummet last year and new generations of graphics cards were launched one after another, the RTX 30 series has also begun to stabilize. Many cards have already fallen below the recommended retail price at the beginning of this year, but the RTX 3070 has always been in the same or more expensive situation. Recently, it has finally failed to hold on, and an option below the recommended retail price has officially appeared.
In fact, not only the RTX 3070, but also many graphics cards have been falling in price, which shows that the recent buying sentiment is really not very good.

After 2 and a half years, the price of GeForce RTX 3070 has finally dropped below the recommended retail price
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 has always been a very popular graphics card in the 30 series. With the official launch of the new generation RTX 4070 in the middle of last month, it is not surprising that the buying sentiment has been affected, and the price is naturally unsustainable. According to the tracking report of 3DCenter.org, the GeForce RTX 3070 has finally been seen below the recommended retail price. It is currently available in Europe at a price of 450 euros (the recommended retail price at launch was 499 euros):

The same is true for Taiwan. The recommended retail price of GeForce RTX 3070 is NT$15,900. Now you can find MSI GeForce RTX 3070 VENTUS 3X PLUS 8G OC LHR on PChome 24h shopping and momo shopping network for only NT$15,800, which is NT$100 cheaper. ZOTAC are cheaper, but currently there doesn’t seem to be much inventory in Taiwan, making them harder to find:

Other graphics cards are no exception. Recently, in foreign hardware media, you can often see how much the price of a certain graphics card has dropped, even the latest GeFroce RTX 40 series and Radeon RX 7000 series.
For example, the NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founder Edition has been reducing prices abroad. According to foreign media VideoCardz Statistics, the following figure shows the price changes in Germany:
- MSRP €1949 when launched in 2022
- In February this year the price was reduced to 1859 euros, a decrease of 4.6%
- In March this year, the price was reduced to 1,819 euros, a decrease of 6.7%.
- This month, the price was reduced again to 1,769 euros, a decrease of 9.2%.

The AMD Radeon RX 6900 and RX 6800 series have also dropped to record low prices. Radeon graphics cards with 16GB of memory now only cost $499 to $649, which is quite a bargain:

The Intel Arc A770 is even cheaper. It also has 16GB VRAM. You can find the Acer Arc A770 Predator BiFrost on Amazon overseas for only US$339.99, about NT$10,500:

And this downward trend seems to have not stopped yet. Don’t forget, NVIDIA and AMD’s new generation of mid-to-low-end graphics cards will be launched one after another in the past two months. This will definitely have some impact on market prices. Players who are not in a hurry are advised to wait.
