Many photography friends always bring several lenses and cameras with them when they go out, so they need a larger backpack to accommodate them. Photography equipment is very expensive, so it is extremely important to choose a useful photography backpack! This time I want to share with you a camera backpack that I highly recommend. It can accommodate 1-2 lenses and a single-lens camera body. It is also quite affordable. Even if you don’t bring a camera, it can be used to carry a laptop. It is a backpack that has both appearance and high CP value.

Camera Backpack Buying Guide

Before introducing the backpacks I recommend, the editor would like to share with you 6 key points for choosing a camera backpack for your reference.

1. Large capacity backpack

If you have many cameras and several lenses, you will definitely want to take them with you when you go on a trip. It is better to have them than not to be able to put them away. Another advantage of a large-capacity backpack is that when you go out without a camera, you can use it as a general backpack. It is suitable for laptops, tablets, personal clothes, etc. Therefore, the editor will try to choose a backpack with a large capacity.

Of course, large-capacity backpacks will definitely have weight. A carry-on backpack or a side backpack is also an option. It depends on the capacity or weight which appeals to you more.

2. Easy to take out the camera

This should not be difficult to understand. You don’t want to think that you have to put down your backpack and unzip the camera to take out the camera. Some images are fleeting. Therefore, whether it is a photography side backpack or a back backpack, mobility is very important. Being able to take out the camera to take pictures at any time is also a feature that the editor will pay attention to.

3. Anti-impact cushion

When traveling, you often need to squeeze into the MRT or bus. If your camera or lens is hit or kicked by a stranger in a hurry, even if the camera is fine, you will still be worried about what happened to the impact just now! As long as it is a backpack that claims to be able to hold laptops, it must have anti-collision cushioning. You should also pay attention to this when choosing a photography backpack!

4. Waterproof and dustproof

Waterproof and dustproof/Photo-ac

When encountering a changeable climate, it is difficult to predict when it will rain and when the sun will shine. At this time, a waterproof and dustproof camera backpack is very convenient. Nowadays, many camera backpacks have this function, which is a common advantage. Some even have raincoat covers to cover the entire backpack.

5. Portable tripod

If you are a photographer who often needs to run around, you must use a single leg or a tripod at some point. At this time, it would be great to have a tripod in your backpack. In addition to freeing your hands, more importantly, the weight of the tripod can be borne by the back, making it less tiring after a long time.

Echoing the previous point, if you don’t bring a tripod, you can use it to tie an umbrella. This can also prevent heavy rain and the photography backpack will not get wet. When I traveled before, I often didn’t bring a tripod, but I always brought a folding umbrella, which is really convenient.

6. Good looking

In addition to the important function, the appearance of the photography backpack is also something that the editor will pay attention to. People are sensory animals, and if it looks good, they will naturally want to take it out from time to time. Do you think so?

Camera backpack appearance

The appearance of this camera backpack is as shown in the picture above. I personally think it is quite fashionable, and it also fits the key points of choosing a backpack I mentioned earlier. I have been using it for more than 2 years now and I think this backpack is quite suitable for my own usage habits.

andThe back of the backpack has a lot of breathable mesh, even if you carry it for a long time, it will not be too boring, and it is very suitable for friends who travel around and love to take pictures.

The backpack has a large capacity

This backpack has a capacity of 20L, which can be mainly divided into upper and lower compartments. The upper compartment is relatively large, suitable for storing spare single-lens cameras, telephoto lenses, personal clothing or jackets, etc. The lower compartment can be pulled out independently and needs to be removed from the side zipper.

▲ Figure 16: Lower compartment of the backpack (side compartment)

There is also a space near the back that can accommodate a 15-inch laptop. However, the editor does not have such a large laptop at hand, so I did not take actual photos. The zipper on the side can be used to store small photography items, such as memory cards, batteries, filters, lens caps, etc., which are very convenient and quick to access. The zipper also feels good and won’t get stuck.

▲ Figure 17: Laptop can be placed

▲ Figure 18: The zipper on the side can hold small photography items

In the design of this camera backpack, there is a layer of Velcro felt between the upper and lower compartments. After being removed, the upper and lower compartments will be opened. The editor will not remove this layer of compartments, you can adjust it according to your needs.

Easy to take out camera or lens

In order to make it easier to take out the camera, this backpack has a side compartment so that you can take out the camera at any time, which is really convenient. This compartment can also be taken out separately. When I use it myself, in addition to placing the camera, the remaining space is used to place some accessories such as batteries or filters.

▲ Figure 21: Can hold a camera

▲ Figure 22: The compartments can be taken out individually

This small compartment is actually surrounded by 1 large folding board, 2 large partitions and 3 small partitions. You can be creative according to your own habits, so I made a compartment suitable for taking and placing the camera.

▲ Figure 23: You can assemble it by yourself according to your own needs

▲ Figure 24: For example, it looks like this

Of course, the compartment can also be used to store lenses. I have tried it myself and can store a telephoto lens of up to 70-200mm.

Carry a tripod with you

This K&F photography backpack can carry a tripod with you. A backpack like this that can hold a tripod is not bad, so your hands can be free. It has a tripod buckle, whether it is a tripod or a monopod, it is suitable to be installed in this position, and it is even suitable for bringing an umbrella.

▲ Figure 27: Tripod buckle material

▲ Figure 28: Installing the tripod

One thing to note, ifWhen you bring your tripod, the raincoat cover cannot be used on the backpack., which is a little pity. If you encounter a similar situation, bring an umbrella!

▲ Figure 29: A backpack that can carry a tripod is very convenient

▲ Figure 30: If there is a tripod, you cannot use the raincoat cover

Chest strap

This camera backpack is also designed with a buckle strap on the chest, which can strengthen the position of the backpack shoulder strap and prevent the strap from slipping off. This is a very common design.

▲ Figure 31: Buckle up the backpack

▲ Figure 32: The backpack buckle is not easy to slip off

Disadvantages of backpack design

I have talked about so many advantages and functions of the K&F photography backpack, but it does not mean that it is without disadvantages.

The editor would like to mention the design that I don’t like. That is, the design of buckling the backpack is not easy to use. The hole is too small. It often takes a while to buckle it, and sometimes it is too late to buckle it in an emergency.

▲ Figure 33: The design of buckling the backpack is not convenient

The editor feels that the entire backpackHave a good anti-theft concept, the front backpack has a large area of fringed fabric covering all the zippers, but the zippers on the side do not have this concept. The zippers are clearly and obviously placed there. Although after strengthening the anti-theft function, convenience will definitely be lost, which is also a trade-off.

It is recommended that when you go to a country or place with poor security, you can temporarily hang the camera on your chest to reduce unnecessary trouble.

▲ Figure 34: The side zipper lacks the anti-theft concept

Conclusion

The above is an introduction to the K&F photography backpack recommended by the editor. I have used side backpacks and ordinary laptop backpacks, but they are not as easy to use as this photography backpack. When I was choosing a backpack, there were many others on the market that were on the list. However, after considering the key points of choosing a backpack shared with you in the article, and considering the price, I chose this one. It is a photography backpack that has both good looks and functionality. I think a good-looking camera bag is also very important.

I think it is very important to choose a backpack with anti-theft function. It is relatively helpful to go to some countries with poor security. I provide it for your reference.

If you don’t usually bring a camera, you can also bring your laptop, documents, and tablet to work. I believe this backpack will meet your needs.
