Yesterday we reported NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series high-end graphics card prices reach new lows, it seems that not only the commercial version, but also the hidden version of the graphics card is not selling well. The RTX 3080 with 20GB of memory has not been officially released, but now a batch of 100 MSI GeFoce RTX 3080 20GB graphics cards has appeared in China and is being sold quietly. The price is less than 600 US dollars. It is very popular. It should be that it was acquired by miners before and was sold at a loss after being unable to sell.

Earlier, a user hongxing2020 shared on Twitter 100 pictures of MSI GeFoce RTX 3080 20GB priced at 3xxx RMB. He did not actually say how much the price was, but since it is 3xxx, converted to the highest price of 3999 RMB, it is about 576 US dollars (about NT$17,700), which means it can be bought for less than NT$18,000. If it’s only a little over 3,000 RMB, the price is only NT$13,300, which is super cheap, and more importantly, judging from the photos, these graphics cards seem to be brand new.

There is a model sticker on the bottom of the back, which reads GA102-250-KD VENTUS 3X 20G OC:

This card has a preserved image output interface:

He even shared the actual measured Ethereum mining performance. Four RTX 3080 20GB can reach 389.9MH/s. After conversion, one is about 97.48MH/s. But this is actually not important anymore, because the Ethereum Merge (The Merge) will enter the first phase at 11:34 UTC on September 6, and will be upgraded on September 15, which means that all Ethereum activities will become PoS (Proof of Stake Mechanism), and the mining demand will not be so great:

It is worth noting that because NVIDIA has not launched the RTX 3080 20GB card, there is no so-called official driver. If you buy it, it can basically only be used for mining, right? Playing games is supposed to suck. Looking at it now, it feels like it’s only suitable for collection.

Despite this, there are still many users replying under this post who are willing to buy, possibly other miners:

last year russiaThere has also been another hidden version of RTX 3080 Ti 20GB. The price at that time was exaggerated and scary, with an asking price of US$3,071. I wonder what this card will become now:

As the cryptocurrency continues to slump, we may see other hidden versions of graphics cards circulating in the market again, especially after September 15th. We don’t know what kind of fluctuations there will be. Foreign hedge fund managers, Bank of America, etc. are all bearish on Ethereum, believing that the risk is very high, and it may collapse again in the future.

Therefore, friends who are still mining or intend to join the ranks should pay special attention to this risk. As for RTX 3080 20GB, even if it is available, it is still not recommended at this stage because there are too many uncertainties.
