LINE, Taiwan’s leading messaging app, today (10/13) hosted its annual LINE CONVERGE 2026 press conference under the core theme “Connect the Next,” announcing that it will continue to expand and deepen everyday communication experiences through its subscription service “LINE Premium.” Since its official launch in Taiwan in March this year, LINE Premium has generated widespread response with multiple exclusive features. Among them, the privacy- and thoughtfulness-focused “Unsend Without a Trace” feature has achieved a usage rate of over 90%, highlighting users’ strong demand for flexible communication.
LINE Premium Rolls Out 6 More Advanced Membership Features, Upgrading Everything from Messaging to Call History
Data shows user preferences: women favor personalization, while younger demographics value switching between multiple identities.
According to internal operational data shared by Jingwen Chang, General Manager of LINE Taiwan’s Portal and Content Business Group, the exclusive features reveal a remarkably rich and diverse range of usage scenarios:
- Trace-Free Recall: As many as 92% of members have used this feature, making it rank first among all exclusive features and become the most popular go-to tool.
- Visual and stylization features: Includes custom fonts, app icons (App Icon), and advanced photo albums, among others; 60% of users are female, clearly showing that female users are more enthusiastic about creating personalized call interfaces and visual experiences.
- Practical and backup features: The male-to-female ratio of users of advanced backup and custom personal profiles (Profile) is evenly split, demonstrating a highly consistent demand.
- Multi-context applications: Among users of “Custom Profiles,” the younger demographic under 34 accounts for as much as 57%. This reflects how adept new-generation users are at flexibly switching to the most appropriate personal image for different interpersonal contexts, such as the workplace, family, and social settings.

To meet users’ nuanced needs for message content correction, send timing selection, read status control, and retention of important information, LINE Premium plans to gradually and proudly launch the following 6 members-only features from Q4 2026 through the first half of 2027:
- Edit messages (for more precise expression): If a sent message has a typo or incomplete meaning, you can edit and correct it directly in the chat, eliminating the cumbersome traditional process of unsending and resending, making message delivery more efficient.
- Silent Message (send silently without disturbing): Supports sending messages as silent notifications, ideal for late nights, meetings, or when the other person is resting. It conveys care while also respecting social etiquette.
- Call Recording (Never Miss Important Records): Full support for voice and video calls. Users can record call content with one click, so whether it’s work assignments in the workplace or important reminders from family, everything can be fully retained for future reference.
- Scheduled messages (precisely specify the send time): You can schedule messages to be sent in advance, ideal for cross-time-zone communication, sending birthday cards, or work to-do reminders, greatly reducing the risk of forgetting due to a busy schedule.
- Incognito Preview (full-screen viewing without showing read receipts): lets users read the full message content without triggering the “Read” label, giving recipients the flexibility to think and schedule their reply time.
- Mark as read later (control your own social pace): fully hand control of “read status” back to users, letting them choose when the other person can see that a message has been read, effectively reducing the psychological pressure to reply immediately upon receiving a message.
