TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 (TGS 2026) kicks off on September 17 at Makuhari Messe. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tokyo Game Show, and the event will run for five days for the first time. It also coincides with MSI’s 40th anniversary. At the show, MSI unveiled a lineup of next-generation flagship products and is showcasing the GeForce RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z legendary graphics card, the Claw 8 EX AI+ AI handheld, Red Dot award-winning gaming peripherals, smart monitors, and high-end PC components, demonstrating its strategy to move from a hardware performance leader to a local AI ecosystem.
RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z: The Legendary Graphics Card Returns
The biggest highlight of this lineup is the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z. This graphics card is built with an enhanced liquid-cooling system, precision carbon-fiber details, and a LIGHTNING-exclusive cut design. It features an 8-inch display on the front for personalized visuals, and the company claims it is the world’s first graphics card equipped with an 8-inch screen. Internally, it uses a full-copper full-coverage cold plate, supports up to 1000W power delivery, and its custom PCB features dual 16-pin power connectors and a dual BIOS switch design, paired with a 3 Oz copper-thickened design, leaving ample headroom for extreme overclockers. Combined with the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture’s fifth-generation Tensor Cores and DLSS 4.5, it unleashes the full performance potential of the GeForce RTX 5090.
Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld and Demon Dragon Princess limited-edition laptop
MSI also showcased the world’s first handheld device powered by an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+. The new model’s chassis features a curved grip structure inspired by classic controllers, with anti-slip texture added to the grips so hands don’t need to grip tightly during long gaming sessions. It has built-in Hall-effect triggers and joysticks, offering drift-free, high-durability characteristics, and supports high-resolution haptic feedback.
Software support includes Xbox Mode and the new MSI Center M interface, along with a built-in 80Whr battery and Cooler Boost Hyperflow cooling design; the exterior features a striking Void Purple colorway.
On the laptop side, the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition Dragon Princess Limited Edition features a Starlight White color scheme, with a pearl coating that reveals a fiery red glow as light and shadow shift. The design centers on MSI’s original virtual character, Dragon Princess Nia, whose Crimson Flame Will is transformed into vivid red elements, giving the gaming laptop a uniquely personalized style.
MEG Series: 2026 Red Dot Design Award Products
The MEG CORELIQUID E15 360 all-in-one liquid cooler and MEG MAESTRO 900R case, winners of the 2026 Red Dot Design Award, will soon launch in Japan. The MEG CORELIQUID E15 360 features an aluminum frame and a 6.67-inch 2K curved AMOLED screen with glasses-free 3D visuals; the MEG MAESTRO 900R is equipped with three-sided panoramic glass and a four-way rotating motherboard tray, bringing greater flexibility to high-end PC builds.
For high-performance gaming systems, the MPG VIXTA 300R AIRFLOW PZ features a high-airflow mesh front panel and two 160mm ARGB fans, supports back-connect motherboards, and combines a po-go pin wireless front panel with a tool-free design, balancing cooling, a clean look, and easy assembly.

Dual Flagship QD-OLED Monitors
The monitor lineup sees a strong return from the MEG series. The all-new MEG X is a flagship smart QD-OLED gaming monitor, featuring a 5th-generation QD-OLED panel, RGB Stripe subpixel layout, and DarkArmor Film, and integrating multiple AI Gaming smart assistance features to deliver a more intuitive, immersive next-generation gaming experience. The same-generation panel technology also extends to multiple mainstream models, offering options across different sizes and refresh rates.
Another high-refresh-rate-focused model, the MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36, features a 34-inch UWQHD 5th Gen QD-OLED panel and supports a 360Hz refresh rate; combining DarkArmor Film, HDR Curve Customization, and OLED Care 3.0 with AI Care Sensor, it delivers precise HDR performance and intelligent OLED protection.
Peripherals: Wireless Headphones and 8K Gaming Mouse
The MAESTRO 500 WIRELESS wireless headphones support instant switching between ANC active noise cancellation and Transparency mode. They use a 6-microphone array with beamforming and environmental noise cancellation to deliver clear voice communication; the earcups have built-in 40mm drivers, support high-frequency detail up to 40kHz, and can be used with Nahimic audio software.
The flip microphone automatically switches to mute when stowed, with no extra button required; battery life lasts up to 90 hours, a 5-minute charge provides 6 hours of use, and it supports three connection modes: 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.4, and 3.5mm wired.
The VERSA 300 WIRELESS 8K gaming mouse weighs only 66 grams and features a PixArt PAW3395 optical sensor, supporting up to 26,000 DPI and an 8,000Hz polling rate with only 0.125ms transmission latency. It uses OMRON micro switches rated for 60 million clicks, offers up to 196 hours of battery life on a single charge, and supports three connection modes: 2.4G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB wired. Settings can also be adjusted via the web-based PortalX software. Its symmetrical ergonomic shape and diamond-patterned anti-slip side texture let both left- and right-handed players hold it comfortably, making it suitable for long gaming sessions.
From the return of a legendary graphics card and the debut of an AI handheld to a full lineup of gaming peripherals, MSI rolled out a complete roster spanning graphics cards, laptops, monitors, cases, and peripherals on the 30th anniversary stage at Tokyo Game Show. Aligning with the new direction of running AI agents on local devices, MSI is seeking to extend its 40 years of accumulated hardware expertise into a vehicle for the next phase of intelligent computing.

The 2026 Tokyo Game Show is being held from today through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Japan. This year’s theme is “The Most Exquisite Five-Day Gaming Feast in History.” The event is divided into two phases, Business Days and Public Days: Business Days are September 17–18 (10:00 to 17:00), and Public Days are September 19–21 (09:30 to 17:00), with the last day ending early at 16:00.
