After the Steam Machine and the new Steam Controller were released in succession, the only new Valve product that has yet to come out is the VR headset “Steam Frame.” But for now, the company doesn’t seem ready to share more details, and pre-orders haven’t opened either. However, a setup video for this latest VR device has recently started leaking on social media.

Considering that Steam Frame itself will come with 16GB of DDR5 memory and at least 256GB of system storage, this latest VR headset may also have been affected by the recent surge in prices of memory and other components. Therefore, Valve may still be monitoring the current hardware market conditions and hasn’t decided when to share more details with players.

But just recently, several videos related to the Steam Frame device have begun circulating widely online, giving fans eagerly awaiting Valve’s newest product a glimpse of its true appearance. The leaked series includes unboxing and setup tutorial videos, showcasing the packaging design and contents of the Steam Frame.
According to this series of videos, the Steam Frame’s packaging will include glasses spacers for those who wear glasses, a USB wireless adapter that can connect to a PC or Steam Machine, a USB-C cable, and an instruction manual. Although Valve hinted at a summer 2026 release for the headset when it was first announced, the official price and launch date have not yet been disclosed.
From the leaked setup tutorial video, players also learned that when installing Steam Frame, they can speed up the process by using the Steam mobile app. After logging into the Steam app on their phone, users can either scan a QR Code or simply tap to confirm their account login information, and once Steam Frame finishes setting up, they can play VR games from their Steam library.

On the other hand, this series of videos also showcases many ergonomic accessories that come with the Steam Frame, such as controller wrist straps, extended light-shielding attachments for players with smaller noses, and a top head strap. In addition, the included USB wireless adapter has two built-in radio modules, allowing it to connect to both the Steam Frame and a local Wi-Fi router simultaneously.
Unfortunately, the leaked videos still haven’t revealed the price of the Steam Frame. Given that the Steam Machine’s high price sparked considerable controversy after its announcement, Valve will inevitably be more cautious in setting the price for this new VR device. As for the final pricing and release date, further official information has yet to be announced.
