Batteries, motors, thermal management, apps, and power management are already part of the daily routine in its laptop and ROG product lines. Friction drive mechanisms and relatively low-power motors are hardly unfamiliar territory for a company that has long built motherboards and cooling modules. ASUS’s Oddities Showroom: Laptops and Mice That Emit Fragrance

This 14-inch model is essentially built on the Vivobook architecture, powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 8945H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a 2880 x 1800 OLED display, but the lid features an extra speaker-like circular disc that passively diffuses scent using waste heat from the chassis and screen, with no fan or heating circuitry involved.

ASUS apparently felt one wasn’t enough, so in February 2025 they released the Fragrance Mouse, which features a washable, refillable vial next to the battery compartment on the bottom of the mouse that holds essential oils to let the mouse itself emit a pleasant scent.
