In this regard, DJI specifically announced the correct official application download channel on its own forum – at least for Android devices, basically you still have to download it through their official website. It has to be said that DJI’s official apps such as DJI Fly, DJI Mimo and LightCut can basically be downloaded directly from the Apple App Store. In this case, for ordinary users, it is really impossible to think of the reason why Google Play cannot be put on the shelves. It is not difficult to imagine that Android users will search for official applications on Google Play as soon as they get a new phone.
As everyone knows, in the past, it was either not directly searchable, or, as DJI specifically warned today, it was blocked by malicious applications that misappropriated trademarks, which in turn led to possible risks for DJI users.
In this regard, DJI not only emphasized that in order to defend the rights and interests of users and its own intellectual property rights, it has lodged a complaint with the Google Play Store. It’s not unavoidable to encounter someone who directly said, “Now is a good time to announce why the official app will be removed from the shelves.” I originally thought that DJI would avoid such a question, but I didn’t know that they actually responded:

Well, I admit that such a reply basically means the same thing as it does. But at least it is confirmed that there are certain policy adjustments in Google Play that may prevent official applications such as DJI Fly from being able to persist on it.
Putting aside why the more strictly regulated Apple App Store can be listed on Google Play but not Google Play, it may even extend to some doubts. However, I personally prefer to speculate. Perhaps the functions originally provided by DJI Fly on Android may be subsequently blocked by Google’s policies. Therefore, rather than bothering to modify the application to castrate the function, DJI may feel that it is not too strange to directly install the APK on the Android system, so it chose the current approach, right?
Of course this is all just speculation. As soon as this fake official app incident came out, I actually believe that DJI should at least consider launching an app that can guide users to the official guide or instructions where they should go to grab the app. You can also occupy a genuine and official application on Google Play to avoid fraudulent applications from appearing on the platform in the future. But whether people will treat the real official application as a scam in the future is another matter… (It’s really embarrassing)
