“Diablo 4”, which players have been waiting for for a long time, was finally officially launched a few days ago. Those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition must have started practicing and brushing it early, while the Standard Edition will have to wait until tomorrow. Players who are interested in this game but have not yet bought it will definitely want to know whether their computer graphics card can run well. Recently, a well-known foreign hardware media conducted an actual test of 36 graphics cards. The results confirmed that “Diablo 4” does not have very high performance requirements for graphics cards. If the image quality is not set to the highest, graphics cards from 10 years ago can play smoothly. This is really good news for old computers.

How powerful a graphics card do you need to play “Diablo 4” smoothly? Graphics cards from 10 years ago are fine (36 graphics card test data)
Recently, foreign media Tom’s Hardware announced the performance test data of 36 graphics cards for “Diablo 4”, which spans about 12 years. The oldest one was launched 12 years ago, ranging from NVIDIA, AMD, to Intel graphics cards.
The first is the 1080p low-quality setting mode. This part does not test new graphics cards and high-end models, because it is meaningless, and the performance will definitely be fully maximized. As you can see from the picture below, in this setting, even the GTX 670 graphics card launched before 2012 can achieve an average performance of more than 60FPS, which is very smooth. However, I did not expect that the GTX 1050 performed a little worse:

Next, there is the 1080p medium quality setting that many people will set. It doesn’t need to look at modern graphics cards, and the performance is absolutely sufficient. GTX 1070, RX Vega 56 and above can achieve an average FPS of over 100. The GTX 670 obviously falls short in this quality setting, but the GTX 780 launched in 2013 is no problem, providing an average performance of 73 FPS:

After reaching 1080p high image quality, the performance of modern graphics cards is still quite sufficient. However, in terms of graphics cards, at least GTX 1060 6GB and RX 6500 XT are required to achieve an average of more than 60FPS. The GTX 780 becomes only 47.5FPS at this image quality setting, which is not smooth:

Next are players who pursue higher image quality. If you want to play “Diablo 4” smoothly at the highest 2K image quality setting, you must at least choose RTX 3050 and RX 5600 XT or above. The GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1070 graphics cards used by many people are also okay, but the average FPS cannot reach 60:

Finally, there is the highest image quality setting of 4K. There are significantly fewer graphics cards with an average of 60FPS or above. NVIDIA requires at least RTX 4060 Ti or above, and AMD requires RX 6700 XT or above. It is worth noting here that the Intel Arc A770 16GB can also provide an average game performance of 55.6 FPS. The representative said that for players with limited budgets but who want an ultra-high-definition gaming experience, it is worth a reference. Intel this graphics card:

“Diablo 4” also supports DLSS/FSR2/XeSS technology, which is also a 4K ultra-high-definition setting. After enabling it, the Intel Arc A750 can provide an average 60.6FPS performance, and the A770 16GB can even reach 80.2FPS. For NVIDIA, the RTX 3060 has an average of 63.5FPS, and the AMD RX 7600 has an average of 62.4FPS:

Detailed pictures are availableGo to Tom’s Hardware’s article to view, it can be seen that if you want to play the game “Diablo 4” smoothly, basically many graphics cards can satisfy it. For older graphics cards, just lower the image quality setting.
