At last month’s launch event, Apple only introduced the iPhone 18 Pro series. People with smaller budgets, or who don’t need Pro-level power, are surely waiting for the standard iPhone 18. As the possible launch date gets closer, some new leaks have started to appear. Recently, photos of what appears to be an iPhone 18 dummy unit surfaced. Although the back still has dual cameras, the camera design may change to match the Pro series.

iPhone 18 mockup leaks! Standard model may switch to a horizontal bar-shaped camera module.
According to PhoneArena According to the report, Majin Bu recently shared a photo on the X community labeled “iPhone 18 dummy design,” showing the back of a dummy unit believed to be the standard iPhone 18. The body in the photo is a deep wine red close to burgundy, and like the iPhone 17, it has dual cameras placed in the upper-left corner. However, the camera module surrounding the lenses is no longer a small raised bump, but extends all the way across the upper half of the back, just like the Pro series, only missing a telephoto lens:

The current standard iPhone 17 continues the iPhone 16 design: in the top-left corner is an upright capsule-shaped bump with two lenses arranged inside, while the rest is a single flat glass back:
Another difference is the back cover. The iPhone 17’s back is a seamless, uniform-texture design, but this mockup presents the location of the MagSafe magnets with an etched plate, effectively exposing the magnetic ring directly. This design is more surprising, because Apple has always preferred clean-line designs; switching to this approach feels more rugged.
As for color options, although the iPhone 18 in this photo is burgundy, that doesn’t mean the iPhone 18 will definitely have it, because another photo shared by Majin Bu says that currently the only confirmed colors for the iPhone 18 are the following three: blue, pink, and white:

Even the CAD drawings have been leaked. In the image, the body dimensions are listed as 160 × 78 × 8.5mm, noticeably larger than the iPhone 17’s 149.6 × 71.5 × 7.95mm, with the width increasing by 9.1%. Of course, there is currently no way to confirm the authenticity of this design drawing, so just take it as a reference for now:

Although Majin Bu has been an active Apple leaker for years, his accuracy has always been mixed: he tends to get right things others have already leaked or news related to accessories, while completely original leaks often fall flat—for example, rumors about an iMessage overhaul and iPhone 15 Ultra ultimately never came true. More importantly, that original account disappeared in 2025.
The @MajinBuofficia account that made this post was only registered in September 2025, and 9to5Mac noted in May of this year that this account seems unlikely to be the same Majin Bu from back then.
According to current market reports, the standard iPhone 18 is expected to launch in spring 2027, possibly alongside the budget-friendly iPhone 18e and the second-generation iPhone Air.
