Xiaomi held a launch event in Taiwan today (8/28), unveiling not only the REDMI Note 17 series smartphones but also announcing its official entry into Taiwan’s large home appliance market. The first product to launch is the Mijia Smart Front-Load Washer Dryer Pro 12.5kg, priced at NT$16,999, with a gold-level warranty of “12-year motor + 2-year full unit” coverage. The event also introduced three Mijia cordless vacuum cleaners, two REDMI Watch models, and one Xiaomi Smart Band, rounding out the product lineup from home appliances to wearables. Xiaomi currently operates 52 physical stores in Taiwan and plans to add two more stores in southern Taiwan in September, continuing to expand its product and service footprint across smartphones, wearables, and home appliances.
Mi Home Smart Front-Load Washer-Dryer 12.5kg Large Capacity, Direct Drive Motor for a Quiet Experience
The Xiaomi Smart Front-Load Washing Machine Pro with Wash-Dry 12.5kg offers a 12.5kg washing capacity and 8kg drying capacity, featuring a 525mm large drum diameter that can handle the whole family’s laundry and large bedding in one load, reducing the hassle of washing in batches. The unit uses a direct drive motor to power the drum directly, eliminating the traditional belt drive system, which helps reduce mechanical wear and lower operating noise, while more precise drum control minimizes fabric pulling and deformation. The drying function is equipped with temperature and dryness sensors, allowing real-time control of drying temperature and time, automatically ending the cycle once the clothes are dry to prevent damage from over-drying.
As part of Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, this washing machine supports remote control via the Mi Home app, allowing users to start, schedule, or adjust cycles from afar and track washing progress in real time. The built-in AI Laundry Expert automatically recommends suitable wash cycles based on usage habits, and OTA online updates continuously deliver new features and wash programs. Three Mi Home cordless vacuums: full lineup from 170AW to 280AW now available
Xiaomi simultaneously launched three new Mijia cordless vacuums covering different price points. The entry-level Mijia Cordless Vacuum 4C (NT$2,999) delivers 170AW suction, up to 75 minutes of runtime, and LED white-light dust visibility, paired with an anti-tangle design and a 5-stage filtration system, making it suitable for everyday pet hair and debris cleaning. The mid-range Mijia Cordless Vacuum 4 (NT$5,999) steps up to 230AW suction and adds 180° blue-light dust visibility and smart dirt detection, automatically adjusting suction based on the level of soiling to balance cleaning efficiency with battery life. Three new wearable devices: from large AMOLED displays to lightweight bands
In terms of new wearables, the REDMI Watch 6 Lite (NT$1,499) focuses on a complete sports experience, featuring a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with 410 x 502 resolution, support for multi-system satellite positioning, over 150 sports modes, and 5ATM water resistance, with battery life of up to 18 days. It comes in Steel Gray and Obsidian Black. The REDMI Watch 6 Active (NT$999) pairs a slim, lightweight design with Bluetooth calling, a 1.85-inch AMOLED display, and all-day health tracking, also offering 18 days of battery life in Midnight Black, Matte Silver, and Sunset Orange. The Xiaomi Band 11 Active (NT$699) weighs just 18g, features a 1.47-inch TFT display, delivers up to 21 days of battery life, supports 50 sports modes and 5ATM water resistance, and comes in Black, Gray, and Pink, making it ideal for everyday lightweight wear. Offline expansion continues to grow, with two new Xiaomi Home stores added in September.
Xiaomi currently has 52 physical stores in Taiwan. It plans to add two new Xiaomi Home authorized stores in September at Kaohsiung Fongshan Wanjiafu and Kaohsiung Chenggong Wanjiafu, in addition to the Xiaomi Home Far Eastern Garden City authorized store that began trial operations in August. The three stores will hold opening events simultaneously from September 12 to 13. All new stores are located in large shopping malls, and through bright space design and diverse smart product experiences, they will further expand the offline service network and consumer experience channels in southern Taiwan.
