Whether you want to play on your iOS deviceMicrosoft’s XGPU cloud gaming, or A variety of fun game content on Apple Arcade. When you see that these platforms all mention that they can support joysticks, I wonder if everyone will be like the author and find that only iOS / iPadOS supports joysticks for most game consoles. iOS 16 silently adds support for Nintendo Switch joysticks, and it’s a blast!

I don’t know if anyone is like the editor, although I really want to use an iPad with a joystick to experience various Apple Arcade games. But on the one hand, because the PlayStation 4 joystick is in an immortal state (too old?), I also feel that the PS5 is difficult to buy, so I missed the point where I wanted to lose (There should be a Pro anyway). In the end, I thought I would just buy the joystick alone, but I found that the Xbox joystick, which is recognized to have a good feel, is actually very difficult to buy! With a glimmer of hope, I hope I can use it next to the TV It’s also collecting dust I tried the Nintendo Switch joystick, but found that iOS / iPadOS / tvOS did not support the Nintendo joystick… (fall)

Fortunately, this situation seems to have been finally solved in this iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 (tvOS should also be available, right?) update!

Although currently iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 is still in the developer preview testing stage, so all support is still subject to change. However, according to his current testing, it is confirmed that not only the original Nintendo Pro Controller can be successfully connected to iOS devices, but also the included Joy-Cons controller can be successfully paired and used – the same goes for Joy-Cons that can be divided into left and right joysticks. Can be used separately or as a single joystick pair. Detailed functions can be found in the menu.
