Facebook’s rushed Clubhouse feature was even shorter than Clubhouse, ending in June

Although we all know that Facebook has long followed the popularity of Clubhouse and launched their Clubhouse social broadcast function, I believe everyone is like the author and can’t seem to figure out what its name is. All in all, you can’t think of it now, and you won’t need to think of it in the future, because it has been officially confirmed to be officially ending. Yes, even if it died earlier than Clubhouse, Live Audio Rooms actually only lasted a year before dying… It feels like Facebook wants to keep up Killed by Google footsteps?Continue reading Facebook’s hurried Clubhouse feature was even shorter than Clubhouse and ended in June.

Facebook’s rushed Clubhouse feature was even shorter than Clubhouse, ending in June

Although it was initially seen as just following a trend, it felt like it was packaging some of the features of Facebook Live into another service, hoping to catch up to Clubhouse’s dazzle. But seriously, at least in the early days, Facebook was quite active in promoting Live Audio Rooms, and hoped to create a feeling that was different from other platform services. Although it may give people the impression that they insist on following the trend (for example, many people see Rooms popping up, but actually have no idea what its function is). However, I believe that with a certain degree of persistence, we may be able to create a world of our own for the Facebook community.

It is a pity that as the social broadcast trend cooled down, Facebook not only failed to prove that it was not following the trend, but even confirmed that it would turn off this feature earlier than Clubhouse – perhaps, the policy of early withdrawal will actually drive the trend? (error)

According to confirmation by foreign media, a similar function, Live Audio Rooms, was launched around April last year, just when Clubhouse was booming. Creators have been notified that this community feature will be closed on 6/3. Related files and the platform itself will also be cleared later.

As for why this feature has been pushed to the end, the official stated that they will use resources on other experiences – most likely the goals they revealed to the media last month, including online shopping, metaverse activities and short video plans.

Interestingly, Facebook has no intention of helping creators and announcing to users why this service is leaving. It was also mentioned that Live Audio Rooms will be integrated into the live broadcast function, allowing users to choose whether to live broadcast purely by voice – hmm, sounds familiar? Isn’t this a function that Facebook Live originally had?

In short, whether you call him Meta or Facebook. The enthusiasm with which they try to serve is indeed commendable. But if it ends like this, it doesn’t seem to be too respectful to the creators or community leaders?

It can only be said that the core of social services is that they come together because they have many popular functions? Or is it a group that is rich in creative attraction and can follow each other, thereby creating greater cohesion? Perhaps this is the key point that these platforms need to think carefully about while they are constantly chasing interesting features that attract attention.
