OpenAI earlier announced on X the official launch of Sora, its text-to-video generation tool, and this isn’t even the version from the original preview—it’s Sora Turbo, which OpenAI says is a significantly faster version.

However, although Sora is not free for everyone to use, it also doesn’t require an additional fee. Currently, users subscribed to ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Pro plans can use it directly, and the number and quality of videos that can be generated vary by plan.
Sora uses a credits-based system, and ChatGPT Plus users receive 1,000 credits per month, which can generate 50 videos with 480p resolution priority, or 16 5-second videos at 720p resolution, and they will include a watermark.
ChatGPT Pro offers 10,000 credits per month, allowing you to generate 500 priority videos with a maximum resolution of 1080p and video length of up to 20 seconds. It also supports generating 5 videos simultaneously. More importantly, downloaded videos have no watermark, and you can generate unlimited non-priority videos.

Another thing to note is that when generating AI videos, it’s not done inside ChatGPT—you need to go into Sora Go to the tool page and log in to your ChatGPT account.
