As OpenAI’s 12-day event unfolds, not surprisingly, the official o1 version has finally arrived, and the high-priced plan that was previously rumored does exist, but it’s not as expensive as the rumors suggested—the monthly fee is $200. Called ChatGPT Pro, it will exclusively grant access to the dedicated top-tier o1 pro.

New ChatGPT Pro plan debuts at $200 per month.

Earlier, OpenAI announced the launch of a brand new ChatGPT Pro Unlike ChatGPT Plus, the plan has a much higher monthly fee, reaching US$200 (about NT$6,400).

Of course, the plan content is also quite different. The biggest highlight is that it not only has the exclusive “o1 pro mode” but also has no usage limits, meaning you can use it continuously, and that applies to all models, including o1, o1-mini, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice. That’s pretty appealing.

For the current ChatGPT Plus plan, the o1 model has usage limits—once you exceed them, you have to wait until the next update. Advanced voice mode is also limited daily; going over the limit switches it back to the regular voice mode.

OpenAI states that ChatGPT Pro is a plan designed specifically for researchers, engineers, and other individuals who use ChatGPT heavily on a daily basis.

Compared with the regular o1 and o1-preview, does o1 pro mode differ significantly? OpenAI has also provided test data. In short, it performs better in mathematics, science, and programming.

In the AIME 2024 math ability test, o1 pro mode scored 88, surpassing o1’s 78, and far higher than the previous o1 preview’s 50; however, in programming and answering PhD-level science questions, it is about the same as o1, only slightly ahead:

The strongest aspect of o1 pro mode is reliability. To highlight this advantage, OpenAI also shared a 4/4 reliability test result: a problem is only considered solved if it is answered correctly in all four attempts. In this area, o1 pro mode’s scores for coding and answering PhD-level science questions clearly pull ahead of o1:

Additionally, there is another great feature: o1 pro mode takes longer to generate answers. While waiting, a progress bar will show the status, and you can also switch to other chats to continue conversing. When o1 pro mode finishes generating the answer, it will send a notification.

ChatGPT Pro is now available for purchase in the app:

The official o1 version is here! Paid users can start using it now

ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro users can now all start using the official o1 model, including o1 and o1-mini—just open the model switcher in the chat window to see it. The previous preview version has also been removed.

As for whether o1 usage has increased? FromOfficial website descriptionLooking at it, it still stays at 50 times per week, so if you’re planning to use it, remember to keep this limit in mind. As for o1-mini, it has 50 chats per day. When you’re about to run out, it will show how many remain below:

OpenAI o1 is now fully rolled out to 100% of ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro users 💯
