The price of DDR5 memory has been rising all the time, and the rate is very exaggerated. This has also caused many players to be afraid to upgrade/build new computers. A few months ago, we saw a very obvious drop. Players should be very happy, but as expected, this is not the beginning of a price drop, but a short correction in the process of rising.
According to the latest statistics from Germany’s 3DCenter, Germany’s DDR5 memory price index rose to 419% last month. That is, based on July 2025 as a 100% benchmark, the average price is now more than 4 times that of that time. Although it has not exceeded the 440% peak in January and February this year, it has slowly climbed upward in April, May, and June, which means that the previous wave of cooling did not last long.

from 3DCenter Judging from this chart, the changes in DDR5 prices are very obvious. In July 2025, the price index was still 100%; it rose slightly to 102% in August, 103% in September, and 119% in October. The real exaggeration started when it jumped to 179% in November and 345% in December.
After entering 2026, the price index reached a peak of 440% in January and remained at 440% in February. It dropped to 408% in March, but returned to 410% in April, 414% in May, and 419% in June.
In other words, although DDR5 prices have not surged every month like they did at the end of last year, they are now stuck at a high level and have begun to slowly rise again in recent months.
One of the keys to pushing up the average price this time is the high-end package of 2×32GB DDR5-6000 CL28. The chart shows that it was €208 in July 2025, €949 in January 2026, and €999 in February. Although it dropped to 805 euros in March, rose to 855 euros in April, and 819 euros in May, it shot up to 1,000 euros in June, a single-month increase of 22%.
Calculated, this set of 2×32GB DDR5-6000 CL28 has a cumulative increase of 381% from July last year to June this year. For the average user, this is no longer just more expensive, but the price difference of a mid-range graphics card.
However, in this table, not every group of DDR5 increases simultaneously. For example, 2×16GB DDR5-6000 CL28, in June, dropped from 464 euros in May to 417 euros, a single-month decline of 10%. 2×16GB DDR5-6400 CL30 also dropped from 579 euros to 542 euros, a 6% drop in a single month.
However, these decreases have not changed the overall trend, because most products still maintain high prices, and some high-capacity sets continue to increase.
The more common capacity, 2×16GB DDR5-6000, went from 75 euros in July last year to 369 euros in June this year, a cumulative increase of 392%. 2×16GB DDR5-5600 has increased from 79 euros to 365 euros, an increase of 362%.
If this trend continues, the DDR5 price index may be close to 500% by the end of the year, and players may have to be mentally prepared.
