The “Epidemic Prevention Assistant” APP, commissioned by the New Taipei City Government and developed by Dichu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., provides “warning maps”, “personal footprints”, “crowd distribution” and other relevant epidemic information, allowing users to know the relevant information status of the area in real time, which can be used as a reference for decision-making when going shopping, working, commuting, and traveling.

Although the “Epidemic Prevention Assistant” APP was commissioned and developed by the New Taipei City Government, it can be used by people across Taiwan after downloading it. You can choose to download it from the App Store or Google Play according to your personal device.
After the download is completed and the APP is opened, a privacy reminder notification will pop up first. Since the “Personal Footprints” function inside will use GPS location information, those who are more particular about privacy can choose to cancel the authorization of the location in the background later, or not use this APP.
After the application authorization is completed, on the home page of the “Epidemic Prevention Assistant” APP, you can see the diagnosis overview information, New Taipei City real-time news and announcements, warning maps, personal footprints, crowd distribution, and actual linkage scanning and other functions. The diagnosis overview information can be switched to New Taipei City or Taiwan to confirm the number of new diagnoses and cumulative diagnoses on the day.
The warning map (footprint map) cooperates with GOOGLE Maps to mark the footprints of confirmed cases. At a glance, the footprints of confirmed cases and the number of days since the diagnosis can be identified through the circles and colors, and further, the footprints of those case numbers can be confirmed.
In addition, the number of confirmed cases and the cumulative number of confirmed cases within 14 days in the warning map also list the number of confirmed cases and the county and city where they are located through colors and icons.
Personal footprints can be compared to whether they overlap with high-risk areas based on recorded GPS locations.
The crowd distribution is based on different time periods, and the colors are used to roughly remind locations or scenic spots of more crowded periods.
The “Epidemic Prevention Assistant” APP provides functions such as diagnosis overview information, warning maps, personal footprints, and crowd distribution, all of which provide reference materials for individuals traveling to different areas. The New Taipei City Government also stated that the above functions are provided under privacy protection. Users can decide whether to use this APP based on their own habits.
