Yesterday we reported that foreign overclocking master der8auer EN successfully overclocked Intel’s 12th generation non-K series., it seems that he doesn’t want to stop yet. He shared a more powerful video earlier. He also overclocked the entry-level processor Intel Celeron G6900 to 5.3GHz, and the performance increased by more than 50%. I didn’t expect that even Celeron could do this. It is really rare in a century.

The prerequisite for achieving Intel’s 12th generation non-K series overclocking this time is that the motherboard’s BIOS must have the BCLK OC function, which can basically be found on Z690 motherboards. Der8auer EN has successfully overclocked i5-12400 & Core i5-12600 a few days ago. Earlier he continued to try a lower-end processor: Intel Celeron G6900, paired with the same ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex motherboard.

The overclocking process is the same as before. Turn on the BCLK OC function, set the BCLK OC Step to 0.5MHz, then enable the XMP II profile, increase the BCLK clock to about 138Mhz, reduce the DRAM clock to DDR-5244MHz, and adjust the CPU Cache Ratio to about 31:

Finally, from the screenshots of CPU-Z, we can see that the Intel Celeron G6900 clock has indeed been pushed to 5.3GHz, with an overclocking range of 57%:

However, unlike the previous one, this time he did not test game performance, only simple Cinbench R20 running score data.

In addition to the Intel Celeron G6900, he also shared in this video that all cores of the i3-12100 are overclocked to 5.3GHz, which is about 26% higher than the original. The Cinebench R20 Multi score also shows that the performance is close to the competitor AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, but the price is only half:

As der8auer EN has successfully tried so many CPUs, it has been indirectly confirmed that Intel’s 12th generation non-K series has indeed become very easy to overclock, and it can be used for both high-end and low-end.

Of course, the temperature will definitely increase significantly after overclocking, and it is impossible to run at this clock frequency for a long time. Therefore, even if the 12th generation non-K series is easy to overclock this time, it is not recommended to use this method to improve performance for general use and playing games.
