Going to rise again? AMD is rumored to be planning to increase GPU prices again

Not only memory and hard drives, but GPU graphics cards also seem to be increasing in price! AMD has previously reported multiple supply price adjustments, and the market price of NVIDIA’s high-end RTX 50 series has also risen significantly. Unexpectedly, not long after, the market reported that AMD may increase prices again in the second half of 2026, and the magnitude is not small. It is expected to be 10 to 15% more expensive. It can be said that DIYers and gamers have had a hard time in the past few years. Not only are things difficult to buy, but the prices have also been increased all the time.

AMD reports that it will raise GPU supply prices as soon as July, and Radeon graphics cards may be 10 to 15% more expensive in the second half of the year

according to Notebookcheck Quote from Japanese tech website GAZLOG According to reports, AMD may increase GPU supply prices by about 10 to 15% in the second half of 2026, which may start as early as July.

GAZLOG mentioned that what AMD may adjust this time is the package supply price of GPU and VRAM. The spot price of GDDR6 has increased from about US$2.5 per GB to about US$7.5 per GB, which is about three times. This cost change is very obvious for mid-to-high-end graphics cards starting from 16GB VRAM. Therefore, the overall price increase this time may be more noticeable.

Looking at AMD’s currently popular Radeon RX 9070 XT, the official suggested selling price was originally $599, but price tracking released by BestValueGPU on June 21 showed that the current low price of new cards in the US market is about $689, and the second-hand price is about $620, which is significantly higher than the original MSRP.

If the subsequent market price really rises by another 10 to 15% and is fully reflected on the channel side, based on a rough estimate of the low price of $689, the retail end may be about $69 to $103 higher. However, the actual increase depends on the brand, inventory, region and channel strategy:

GAZLOG also clearly pointed out that this news is still not confirmed information at present, and the actual increase and time point may still change.

AMD notified its supply chain partners in November last year that graphics card prices may increase by at least 10% in 2026 due to rising memory costs. At that time, foreign media Tom’s Hardware even mentioned that this was the second price adjustment in recent months. The previous wave was mostly absorbed by AMD or within the supply chain and was not fully reflected in the end market. It also means that this is the third increase in the past year, and it really keeps rising.

As for NVIDIA, GAZLOG said that NVIDIA has not notified AIB graphics card factory of a new wave of price increases in the second half of the year.

However, this does not mean that NVIDIA graphics cards are not affected at all. GAZLOG also added that NVIDIA had increased the AIB wholesale price of the RTX 5090 series by approximately 50,000 yen on May 13. Moreover, the RTX 5090 uses the more expensive GDDR7. In theory, when memory supply is tight, the impact will be more obvious.

The current market price of RTX 5090 is also very exaggerated. BestValueGPU shows that the official MSRP of the RTX 5090 is US$1,999, but on June 21, the new card in the US market is priced at about US$4,199, and the second-hand price is also about US$3,999, which is almost twice the MSRP:
