The “GeForce NOW Alliance Taiwan Mobile” cloud gaming service jointly operated by Taiwan Mobile and NVIDIA has delivered impressive results. According to the latest data from Taiwan University, the number of titanium plan hourly users has increased by nearly 20% in several months, and monthly active users have also grown by about 15%. In order to further expand the cloud gaming market, Taiwan University will set up the only “GeForce NOW Experience Zone” in Taiwan at the Taipei Cultural and Creative Flagship Store from now until the end of July, allowing players to actually experience the real-time streaming experience of cross-device cloud gaming.

No need to upgrade the hardware, RTX level games can be played instantly

The core selling point of GeForce NOW is “no need to buy new hardware.” Through cloud streaming technology, players can enjoy GeForce RTX-level game performance on devices such as iPhone, Mac, Android phones, ordinary laptops, and Android TV, and game progress is synchronized across devices. For players who don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars building an eSports PC, this is a relatively low-cost way to get started.

In the global market, NVIDIA has recently continued to enhance the underlying performance of GeForce NOW. At the end of April 2026, NVIDIA announced that it would expand the RTX 5080-level virtual game console to almost the entire GeForce NOW game library. Ultimate members can enjoy streaming specifications of up to 5K resolution 120fps or 1080p 360fps, and support Blackwell architecture technologies such as DLSS 4. This means that the image quality and smoothness of cloud games are approaching or even catching up with local high-end PCs.

Taipei Cultural and Creative Store creates the only experience area in Taiwan

In order to lower the threshold for players to try, Taiwan University has joined hands with NVIDIA to create the “GeForce NOW Experience Zone” at the Taipei Cultural and Creative Flagship Store, integrating the three major elements of network, device and cloud computing power. The experience area provides multiple devices such as PC, Mac, smartphones, handheld game consoles and Android TV, allowing consumers to actually operate the cross-device cloud gaming process.

The experience area simultaneously displays hardware equipment from ASUS’s e-sports brand ROG (Republic of Gamers), including PBA (Powered by ASUS) consoles with built-in GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, as well as high-end e-sports monitors such as ROG Strix XG27AQDMES and XG27AQDMGR. Players can experience the actual streaming effects of more than 2,200 supported games such as “Forza Horizon 6”, “PRAGMATA”, and “Genshin Impact” on the spot. During the event, complete designated photo and check-in tasks and upload them to the official Facebook fan group, and you will also receive Village Roadshow movie tickets and other gifts.

Tariff plan and equipment combination are in place at once

After the experience, players can directly consult with the store’s AI technology consultants to select a tariff plan and equipment combination based on the usage scenario. The consultant will assist in equipment purchase, account connection, and service application, and provide cross-device setting tutorials. You can enjoy the following discounts when applying for designated tariff plans:

  • Get a Mac for $0: Mac series products sold exclusively by China Telecom, which can be taken away with designated plans for 0 yuan
  • Xiaomi x Logitech G Pro Gaming Set: Another 0 yuan equipment option, suitable for players who need complete e-sports equipment
  • GeForce NOW Titanium Plan hourly membership is free for one year: Free upon application, used with Taiwan’s large 5G network

Taiwan’s largest 5G network recently won four championships through OpenSignal certification. For cloud games that require low-latency streaming, stable network quality is the key foundation for the experience.

Double bonus during summer vacation: students will receive free hours, accumulate playing time and win iPhone 17 Pro Max

During the summer vacation, Taiwan University launched a double promotion activity targeting students and light players:

  • Extra hours for students: From now until June 30, users with student status who subscribe to the Titanium Plan can get an additional 10 hours of game time per month for three consecutive months, which is equivalent to 30 more hours of free game time.
  • Accumulate play and draw big prizes: From now until August 31st, you can register to participate in the lottery by playing on the platform for 10 hours. For 11 consecutive weeks, 20 people will be drawn every week to receive 100 Steam Points, and finally have a chance to win an iPhone 17 Pro Max

The cloud gaming market continues to heat up

Behind Taiwan’s increased deployment of cloud games is the continued growth of the global cloud game market. As the price of high-end graphics cards remains high, and as Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advanced network technologies gradually become more popular, the feasibility of streaming games in the cloud has greatly increased. Taking GeForce NOW Ultimate as an example, members can get the same level of performance in the cloud without paying for an RTX 5080 graphics card, and games can be streamed directly from existing game libraries such as Steam and Epic Games without the need for repeated purchases.

In terms of game lineup, GeForce NOW continues to expand its support list. In May 2026, AAA masterpieces such as “Forza Horizon 6” and “007 First Light” developed by IO Interactive will support cloud streaming on the first day of release, allowing Taiwanese players to experience the latest works as soon as possible.
