It can be said that there are more and more free TTS text-to-speech services on the internet. We have also introduced quite a few before, such as:Free text-to-speech、TTSMARKERRecently, I also discovered this one, Luvvoice, which works quite well. It’s completely free, no registration required, and supports up to 70 languages, including Chinese. For Traditional Chinese, there are three voices, and it can convert up to 6,000 characters at a time, which is a big plus. Here’s a quick introduction for everyone.

Luvvoice is a free online text-to-speech service, supporting 70 languages and over 200 voices.

  • Go Luvvoice Online text-to-speech

Although Luvvoice is a foreign TTS text-to-speech service, it’s very easy to use. Once you enter the website, you can input the text you want to convert to speech, as well as the language and voice. The Traditional Chinese part uses the kind of voice people often hear, so you can tell right away it’s not a real human voice. Other languages are similar.

The conversion speed is also very fast, usually finishing within seconds, and you can listen to a preview online before downloading. Unfortunately, there are no settings options, so if you’re not satisfied, you’ll have to switch to another text-to-speech service.

After clicking the link above to go to Luvvoice, you will see two functional fields. In “Enter text convert into speech,” input the text you want to convert to speech. “Select Language and Voice” is for the voice language:

Once you enter text, the upper right corner will also show you how many characters you’ve typed, with a maximum of 6,000 characters including punctuation. We recommend starting with a short passage to see if you like the sound of this TTS voice, and if it sounds good, then enter the full content. You can mix Chinese and English, and it will still read it out normally.

If you want the voice to pause briefly after finishing a certain passage, here’s a small trick:

Just insert a period (。) where you need a pause. The speech will pause for one second at each period. This method works even in the middle of a sentence, allowing you to control the rhythm and cadence of the speech.

Example: “Hello. This is a sentence. With pauses.”

Currently there are 70 languages, each with multiple voices. The Chinese ones are all grouped under Chinese: Simplified Chinese has 8, while Traditional Chinese has 6, of which 3 are Hong Kong and 3 are Taiwan:

The English section has a lot, and it’s also divided into multiple countries, such as the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

After everything is set up, press Submit to send:

Once the conversion is complete, a Download button will appear. You can click the player below to preview it first, and if you like it, go ahead and download.

The audio file format is .mp3, with a bitrate of 48kbps:

Moreover, the converted MP3 audio files can also be used for commercial purposes, as mentioned in the Q&A section at the bottom of the webpage.
