Ray-Ban Meta glasses have rapidly become popular in the global market in recent years, and “Ray-Ban” and “Meta” have almost become synonymous with smart glasses. Today, Meta once again joins hands with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Ray-Ban, to launch a new generation of “Meta Glasses” equipped with the latest Meta AI. The new series, priced from US$299 (approximately NT$9,525), is more affordable than most Ray-Ban Meta glasses and is intended to expand the user base of smart glasses.

Meta launches its own brand smart glasses, built with the latest Meta AI
This time Meta glasses continue Meta’s technology accumulation in AI glasses in recent years, integrating cameras, microphones, speakers and sunglasses into one. Users can directly take photos and videos with the glasses (up to 3 minutes of video, 1 minute of limited time dynamic), listen to music, answer calls, and operate Meta AI through voice. There is also a dedicated button on the frame, which can quickly wake up Meta AI or activate the user’s most commonly used functions, making the operation more intuitive.

The core Meta AI uses the latest Muse Spark model to provide more natural and immediate intelligent responses. From checking sports scores, recommending nearby restaurants, to analyzing the objects or scenes in front of the user, Meta Glasses can provide instant answers. This also allows smart glasses to move further from “wearable devices that can take pictures” to “AI assistants that can understand the world.”

Meta also emphasized that Meta glasses will continue to evolve through continuous software updates. The “dynamic photo” function launched this month can automatically take multiple images in a row and recommend the best photo, or allow users to select their favorite one to share on social platforms. Pedestrian navigation will also be launched soon, providing step-by-step walking routes. In addition, the real-time translation function supports 14 new languages, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi, making cross-language communication easier.

In terms of hardware experience, Meta glasses have more advanced wind noise suppression technology, allowing calls, voice control and messaging to remain clear in outdoor environments. Open speakers provide clean, natural sound quality, allowing users to maintain awareness of their surroundings while listening to music, podcasts or audiobooks. In terms of power, the glasses have a battery life of more than 8 hours, and the included charging box can provide up to 40 additional hours of use, which is enough to support a full day’s travel.
In terms of appearance design, Meta glasses has launched three frame series with a total of 26 styles, ranging from classic to fashionable, from daily to sports styles:
- Meta Adventurer: Classic rectangular frame, versatile and durable, available in standard and large sizes.
- Meta Fury: A more aggressive sporty style, suitable for those who like a distinctive personality.
- Meta Glasses by Kylie: Designed by Kylie Jenner, this narrow oval style is edgy and priced at $399.

From a market perspective, Meta obviously hopes to further expand the popularity of smart glasses through more affordable prices and more powerful AI capabilities. The new Meta glasses not only continue the wearing trend of the Ray-Ban Meta series, but also further push AI capabilities into daily life, making everything from taking photos, navigation to voice assistants smarter and more instant. For Meta, this is not just a hardware product, but an important node in promoting AI into life.
