It feels like Google has been unusually low-key about adding new features recently (ifTerminate serviceIt’s not surprising~). Like the one previously imported for Pixel phonesBattery health protection mechanism, just join the system silently. Android silently improves the built-in backup function and adds multimedia text message backup that was originally exclusive to Google One
For friends who cherish data, I believe they are familiar with the Android system which has already built-inDirect backup via cloud driveFunctions such as contacts, Google Calendar events and text messages – even system settings such as Wi-Fi network and password, wallpaper, applications, display settings, language and input settings, date and time, etc., can be completed automatically or manually directly and quickly through the built-in backup function.

However, this convenient function actually has many provisos (You can refer to the official website). Perhaps the most fatal point (for some people) is that the text message content “does not contain multimedia messages (MMS)”. However, with the launch of Backup by Google One with built-in MMS backup function, although it may require additional subscriptions to enjoy it, there is finally a solution.
Now, it is reported that Google is preparing to push this new generation backup experience to users of Android 8.0 and above in a few weeks. This means that even users with a general free 15GB cloud drive account can enjoy the backup experience of Backup by Google One. Provides MMS multimedia messaging and advanced photo/video backup functions.

According to the screenshot page shared by 9to5Google, if the built-in backup function really fully replicates this experience, there should also be an option to back up device data, multimedia text messages, and photos and videos separately in the future. Backup by Google One’s built-in backup experience will reportedly support Android 8.0 and above devices and will be fully rolled out within a few weeks. I wonder if you have received this update? Welcome to share your experience of using it.
