YouTube launches “Time Stamp Comments” feature, making videos look more joyful! (How to start, see here)
I wonder if you have received this new test feature pushed to the iOS and Android versions of YouTube? In fact, as long as you open the message in the video, you should see the system prompting “Welcome to use timestamp messages (Beta version)” – but I heard that the iPad version is not available yet.
To put it simply, it is actually a system that actively sorts messages with marked time points. It will look a bit like a replay of the comments during a live broadcast. To be more precise, it should be like a barrage message that is not displayed above the video. Messages marked with time points will be displayed in chronological order like instant messages during live broadcast.
Different from the message classification sorted by “old and new”, timestamp messages will basically filter out messages without time stamps. On the timeline of the video, you can see a white mark at the time when the message appeared. As long as the video is watched together with the message, the time when the message will appear will be previewed as soon as the video starts playing; when the video continues to play, the messages with time stamps will be gradually displayed in sequence; directly pull the video playback time point, and you will see the message quickly shuttle display.
I have to say that this sorting function by timestamp is indeed quite creative. However, whether it can be as popular or interesting as a barrage may depend on whether users will be more enthusiastic about using the time-marked message function in the future.
