The Pokémon Company officially announced today (7/1) at a press conference on the 1st floor of the Taipei City Government that multiple large-scale celebration events are coming to Taiwan, marking the kickoff of the Pokémon 30th anniversary celebration. The event featured the The Pokémon Company team and the Pokémon Go APAC Senior Marketing Director, offering a sneak peek at the series of related event plans to be launched in Taipei.
Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration Arrives in Taiwan: Pokémon RUN 30 and PokéXciting! in Taipei Special Events Kicking Off
PokéXciting! in Taipei

Pokémon launched its first game software, “Pokémon Red/Green,” on the Game Boy platform in 1996, and this year marks the significant milestone of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. The Pokémon Company is unveiling a large-scale party-style celebration event called “PokéXciting!” The event will tour five major cities including Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok, combining entertainment, nostalgic elements, and cross-generational interactive experiences to create one of Pokémon’s most ambitious celebration events to date.
PokéXciting! is coming to Taipei on 10/10 – 10/11, bringing a series of exciting content and interactive experiences designed just for fans. During the event, the Taipei-exclusive “PokéXciting! Pikachu” will make its debut, appearing in live performances and related activities to celebrate with fans in a vibrant, joyful atmosphere. The “PokéXciting! Pikachu” features different colors in each of the five host cities, with Taipei represented by pink, offering fans a city-exclusive surprise. In addition, “POKÉGENIC” photo spots will be scattered throughout the streets and alleys, with Pokémon hidden in all sorts of unexpected corners—grab your sense of adventure and explore!

In the interactive themed run Pokémon RUN, participants become Pokémon Trainers and step into an immersive Pokémon world for a fun journey packed with adventure, collection, and interactive challenges. To celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, Pokémon RUN will be launching across multiple Asian cities on an even bigger scale, inviting fans to celebrate Pokémon’s past, present, and future.
The course is designed as an interactive themed track. Participants will start by selecting their initial partner Pokémon at the starting line, then proceed to tackle fun challenges inspired by the Pokémon world along the route. These include “Pokémon Gyms” that test trainers’ skills, “Pokémon Center” rest stops for hydration and recovery, and interactive missions to encounter and collect different Pokémon to complete the Pokédex. Upon reaching the finish line, participants will also witness their partner Pokémon evolving alongside them, creating a truly memorable running adventure experience.
The event venue will also feature a free admission “Pokémon Carnival Zone,” offering a variety of content, including the “Pokémon Center Taipei Pop-Up Store” selling 30th anniversary commemorative products, the “Pokémon Time Tunnel” showcasing the history of the Pokémon series, Pokémon Trading Card Game, animation, and local licensing collaborations, as well as the “Pokémon Experience Zone” where visitors can try out Nintendo Switch 2 games, Pokémon Trading Card Game, mobile app games, and more. The venue will also host Pikachu parades and meet-and-greets, photo spots, and sponsor booths, allowing all fans to participate in this 30th anniversary celebration in various ways.
Pokémon GO Special Game Content
Pokémon Go will also join in celebrating the Pokémon 30th anniversary, bringing Taiwanese trainers a series of special in-game content and local community events. Taiwan will join this Asia-Pacific celebration in October, when Pokémon Go will launch multiple special in-game events, including the chance to catch “PokéXciting! Pikachu,” as well as event-exclusive content tied to Pokémon RUN 30, allowing trainers to experience more interactive fun related to the Pokémon 30th anniversary through Pokémon Go in addition to participating in the run and other live events.
Additionally, ahead of the grand October celebrations, Pokémon Go is partnering with Taipei Metro to set up themed installations at the Zhongshan Arts Corridor at Zhongshan Station and the Zhongshan Heart Park linear park, inviting trainers and fans to experience the event atmosphere created by Pokémon Go integrated into the urban landscape. The “Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Global” will also hold an offline event at the Zhongshan Heart Park linear park near Zhongshan Station from July 11 to 12. During the event, trainers can participate together in the “Ultimate Mega Raid,” challenging Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y while sharing an exciting gameplay experience with other Taiwanese players.
