Microsoft Edge update launches 41% faster, and convenient vertical paging is also fully available
Compared with Firefox’s native update for macOS, Microsoft Edge is aimed at its home Windows 10 system, bringing a startup boost (Startup boost) option that can speed up startup by up to 41%. In fact, this feature is not news, because it has been tested by some users as early as Edge 88, and it was claimed at that time that it could increase startup speed by at least 29% ~ 41%.

Its functional principle is not difficult to understand, that is, the Edge browser program will be started in the system early, so the startup speed will be significantly improved. This option will start automatically by default, but it may not be so necessary for users who don’t use Edge frequently – if it is opened for a long time, it shouldn’t be necessary for Startup boost to occupy resources permanently, right?
If you think so, you can go to System in Edge settings and find the option to start acceleration. Uncheck the box and reopen the browser, and the resources will “theoretically” be released.

In addition to the new features that make Edge launch faster, Microsoft will also officially provide the straight vertical tab paging feature that has been tested for nearly half a year to all Edge browser users. The paging function that originally occupied the horizontal column of the window has been moved to the left side – this is a very friendly feature for users who care about vertical display space.
