Pixel Feature Drop brings diving camera capabilities and more new features
I wonder if users who own Pixel phones start to look forward to when Google is going to release new features through “Feature Drop” every once in a while? Today, they officially “airdropped” the latest feature package. However, after updating my Pixel 3 XL, the editor scanned through a round of new features, and it seems that I only found that the selected cultural wallpapers for International Women’s Day (International Women’s day) on 3/8 have been added. The reason for this will be discussed later.
The latest Google feature rollout for Pixel phones in 2021 brings a lot of rich features, the most interesting of which is the “diving photography” function, which will include temperature and diving depth in the interface (as well as battery information, etc.), so that users who focus on photography can refer to the status of the dive at any time. Although this function supports Pixel 2 and above mobile phones, it must be combined with a device equipped with a depth meter and shooting button.Professional diving box equipmentIt needs to be connected to start, so it is not a photography scene function that allows you to jump into the water and take pictures anytime and anywhere.
Also required to use accessories is the latest sleep display page – it is paired with the Pixel Stand wireless charging stand released with the Pixel 3, which looks really cozy.
As for why I just said that when I opened my Pixel 3 XL, I only saw a new wallpaper. On the one hand, this is because the previous two updates basically require exclusive accessories to be seen. On the other hand, although this Feature Drop brings many useful features, they are basically limited to the United States/English or require the installation of updated applications to receive them.
Let’s talk about practical functions first. Personally, I think Google Fit This new feature of measuring heartbeat through the camera is pretty good. Then the new version Google audio recording toolThere is a new cloud backup option, and the editor is very excited to use the “Real-time Transcription” function. Unfortunately, it still only supports English… (Yuanwang) But it can be viewed with transcribed text, and the Web version that provides more diverse sharing functions is actually one of the very good and practical new features.
The above two are basically good features, but if your Pixel phone has not installed these applications or has previously removed them, you will not be able to receive these new supports in the first time. Finally, although it feels very convenient, it still only understands English-only built-in features, including smart writing that has evolved to support more applications, and Gboard’s text input now also incorporates Google Assistant’s artificial intelligence to provide better recognition (currently only supported on Pixel 4 and above models).
Overall, although this Feature Drop still provides everyone with a lot of new features, due to some subtle factors, it is not a very impressive update for our language family. However, since the update is shown as a “security update”, it obviously should also include some invisible corrections, right? So it is still recommended to install it when you have time. It is also good to try the new tablecloth.
