Although some people may want to interpret it as reluctance to open up, but since Apple has corrected this problem so quickly, it seems that it has directly used actions to prove that it has no such intention. In less than 10 days before the iOS 14 lightning update was released, Apple quickly pushed out the latest small version update focusing on bug fixes. The main item to be fixed this time is a bug that was previously found to jump back to the original iOS application after the phone is restarted and the settings have been changed to third-party mail/browser. This time, based on our actual measurements immediately after the update, it has been confirmed that this problem has been resolved. This update also includes some additional fixes. The bug in resetting “Default Browser/Mail” in iOS 14 has been fixed in the latest update

It has to be said that perhaps the surprise update of iOS 14 at Apple’s autumn conference not only caught many developers a little off guard, but even the officials themselves found that there seemed to be some problems that needed to be solved quickly. So less than 10 days after the official version was pushed, we quickly saw that iOS 14.0.1 was already available for download. This update, which appears to be only 171.2MB on the iPhone in my hand, is mainly a bug fix for the iPhone/iPad.

If you click “More Content”, you can see that issues including the reset of the default browser and default email, as well as issues with Wi-Fi being unable to connect, email service provider support, and the display of the News gadget will all be resolved through this update. This correction also brings fixes to camera preview display issues specifically for iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus models.

After quickly updating the iPhone, the editor also restarted the phone to see if the default email application set as Gmail would return to the original email as before (for those who want to know how to set a third-party default application,You can refer to this article). After restarting this time, it was confirmed that the default email still maintains the Gmail settings, that is, there will no longer be a reset. So if you are troubled by the reset and other problems listed above, it is recommended that you open your phone and check for updates.
