According to Jack Brandt, his father was driving a 2026 Model Y Launch Edition equipped with the latest FSD v14.1.3 on I-20 in the early hours of November 15, 2025. However, around 3:50 AM, his father suddenly felt severe chest pain and his consciousness began to fade, making it impossible for him to safely operate the vehicle. Fortunately, the FSD feature was already enabled at the time, and the system steadily took over driving duties, keeping the vehicle safely within its lane.

Remote “God-Tier Rescue”: Son Changes Navigation via App
Upon receiving his father’s distress call, Jack immediately took action. After calling his family to confirm the location, they learned that the nearby Tanner Medical Center (located in Carrollton, Georgia) had a cardiac center. Although Jack was not in the car at the time (he was driving his own 2014 Model S), through Tesla App’s driver authorization feature, he directly remotely changed his father’s vehicle’s navigation destination.
FSD’s Precise Judgment: Automatic U-Turn Straight to the Emergency Room
What happened next left Jack saying, “I still shudder when I think about it.” After his father’s Model Y received the new command, it immediately took the next exit, made an automatic U-turn, and re-entered the eastbound I-20 lane, navigating precisely to the Carrollton exit. During the drive, even as his father was fighting for his life, he managed to switch FSD’s driving style to the most aggressive “Mad Max” mode to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. Eventually, the vehicle automatically exited the highway, traveled through city streets, and pulled up directly in front of the emergency room entrance. Because the family had called ahead, the medical team was already waiting at the door.

After being diagnosed with a massive STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction), Jack’s father required immediate intervention on three arteries. The doctors later stated that had he chosen to pull over and wait for an ambulance, or attempted to continue driving to his original destination in Birmingham, the consequences could have been devastating. Jack emotionally posted on Twitter that his father survived thanks to four things: God’s blessing, FSD taking control when his father lost the ability to drive, the Tesla App allowing him to remotely change the destination, and the professional care from the Tanner Medical Center team.
