Anaconda download and installation
The author chose the Visual Studio Code editing tool to learn Python and write it. After crawling around the Internet, a lot of people recommended PyCharm, but the free Community version has many limitations, and the professional version requires payment. Although it is fat, it has loaded most of the popular modules, has a built-in Spyder editor, is completely free, and supports multiple Linux, Windows and MAC platforms, so I also installed it. It feels good!
Open your browser and go directly toOfficial download pageScroll to the end and see Linux, Windows and MAC platforms. The author’s work machine is a Windows system, so I selected the 64-bit version of Python 3.7 in the red box.
What is downloaded is an installation execution file. I am accustomed to using the right mouse button and “Run as system administrator”.
In the Windows 8/10 environment, a window for using this account will appear during execution. This is because a security warning window of “User Account Control” will appear due to security issues. Mainly when the user performs some actions that will affect the system, a confirmation screen will often appear, so it is better to press [Yes] to continue (if you want to remove this warning, please refer to “Talking about User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 8/10″article).
Execute the window installation wizard that appears. Generally speaking, use the Windows sign [Next] to complete the installation.
When the software licensing terms screen appears, of course click [Next] to continue.
If your computer is set up for use by multiple accounts, select All Users to allow other accounts to use it. If the computer is used by yourself, select Just Me.
Select the path where Anaconda is installed. Personally, I think you can use the default.
existInstalling Python aloneWhen you meet, you will check to add the path to PATH. Now Anaconda has packaged the entire Python together, and the check below is for Anaconda to drive Python, so according to the official recommendation, you choose not to check the add environment variable, so just press [Install] to start the installation.
Since Anaconda is a Python lazy package, you can imagine its huge weight. The installation does take some time, but it’s actually not bad!
When you see the picture below, it means that the installation has been completed. If you don’t want to see some English learning web pages, you can uncheck it and press [Finish] to exit the installation program.
Go to the start menu menu and see the “Aanaconda3 (64-bit)” folder, which expands six items including Aanaconda Navigator, Anaconda Powershell Prompt, Anaconda Prompt, Jupyter Notebook, Reset Spyder Settings and Spyder.
Let’s try “Anaconda Navigator” first. If it can be opened, it means you have successfully installed Anaconda.
Python is a literal translation language. When you install Python alone, there will be a built-in “IDLE” environment, which is like an interactive mode where you say something to me. The Anaconda lazy package provides a function similar to the Windows “Command Prompt” window. Enter “Python” and press [Enter], and you will see the familiar “>>>” prompt symbol. I tried a few commands by the way, and it works fine.
Use pip list to see which modules are installed. There are really many.
I often heard about Jupyter Notebook before. It turns out to be a web-based development editor that edits and executes programs through a browser. To be honest, I am not used to it. If you have multiple different browsers installed, the picture below will ask you which browser you are using.
The author selects Chrome and the following picture appears. Click [new] → [Python 3] on the upper right to enter the editing area.
The program code is entered into the In [] block and can be entered in multiple lines.
After entering the program code, it is not difficult to test the results in real time. Press [Run] at the top to see the results below the program code.
anaconda has a built-in Spyder editor, which is a good free IDE development and editing environment.
It provides intelligent input and basic debugging functions. For example, after entering text and pressing the [Tab] key, you can intelligently pull out functions, variables, categories, etc. that begin with the relevant text.
The execution of the program is also very simple. Press the execution button and the screen will be displayed in the console pane. Basically, the author would recommend using Spyder for development. After all, only with a good editing environment can you get twice the result with half the effort.
