Now, in response to the information about PBGN battery swap stations, Gogoro Network has quietly begun to think of ways to make the Apple system more directly integrate relevant battery swap station construction information.

Regarding support for the new generation of electric vehicle navigation, Apple has officially announced in the latest iOS 14 that it will cooperate with multiple manufacturers to introduce related functions. Now, the Gogoro Network energy network, which is very popular in Taiwan, has also begun to see the information connection work between the officials. It is obviously still in the construction stage of data import, so Gogoro has not officially announced this support.

If you want to find a PBGN battery swapping station on the Apple Maps app, it’s actually very easy. Just search for “Gogoro Battery Swapping Station” and nearby PBGN battery swapping stations will be displayed—so you can also use Hey, Siri to query nearby stations by voice (!). For the searched sites, you can find that the information is provided by the Gogoro Network app, so the information including business hours, address and phone number is quite complete – the map information will also show that you can obtain it or open the Gogoro Network app to get more information.

That is to say, although it seems that it is now confirmed that Gogoro will officially import battery swap station information into Apple Maps, even if such information is included in the Apple Maps electric vehicle navigation project, it is obvious that the lack of motorcycle navigation will still cause a gap in user experience. Fortunately, the standalone iOS app made by Taiwanese developers has solved this problem in recent updates.

Preliminary use of this function shows that although it cannot customize the mileage of each exchange, at least the distance of each exchange seems to be about 20 ~ 40km, which can be considered to be in line with most usage scenarios of Gogoro dual-electric scooters. However, at this stage, I still think it would be better to have a PBGN navigation function that can customize the mileage interval of battery swaps. This can be based on the user’s (thinking) more power-saving or power-consuming riding habits, or correspond to the current single-battery VIVA car models, or more battery car models that may appear in the future will be good. This depends on who will make it first in the future (look forward to it).
