Japanese grandma writes a handwritten letter asking for GameBoy repair, and Nintendo’s god-level customer service response once again broke the Internet

We have reported several times before about the god-like “after-sales service” of Nintendo of Japan, such as “Japanese Tiger Mom folds 3DS and unexpectedly reveals Nintendo’s amazing “super complete” repair service」、「Japanese netizens sent 3DS battery for repair, Nintendo also repaired the defective parts for only 71 yen」、「A visually impaired Japanese primary school student writes a letter requesting promotion of Rhythm Paradise’s new game. Nintendo Japan thoughtfully responds to the Braille version of the letter“etc. Recently, another story about Nintendo’s god-level service was reported, but it happened to a 95-year-old grandma.

A 70-year-old Japanese woman, Kuniko Tsusaka, wrote a letter to the Japanese news media “Asahi Shimbun”. The content mainly described the matter between her 95-year-old mother and Nintendo. The 95-year-old grandma owns a GameBoy and loves playing Tetris. But GameBoy is an electronic product after all, and it will break after being played for a long time. The whole family searched everywhere, but couldn’t find a place that could repair it. The GameBoy had been discontinued as early as 2003, so naturally it was impossible to buy a new one.

One day, the grandma heard from her grandson that Nintendo always had some “God-like” services. The grandma heard “God” as “paper” (in Japanese, the pronunciation of these two words are Kami), so the grandma thought that Nintendo had a “paper correspondence” that could be serviced by writing letters. So the grandma wrote a letter to Nintendo and attached her GameBoy, hoping that Nintendo could help her repair the GameBoy.

Fortunately, Nintendo, which has a god-like counterpart, actually responded to the letter in paper form, although the content of the letter stated that since the GameBoy had long been discontinued, Nintendo itself did not have any parts to repair it. But they found a brand new GameBoy in stock, so Nintendo officially sent this one to Grandma, saying that it would be given directly to him and that he hoped he would live a long life.

Kuniko Tsusaka also told the media that her mother was very happy when she got the new GameBoy, and she did not suffer from dementia symptoms until her death at the age of 99. All we can say is that Japan’s Nintendo has once again written a touching story.
