Curious about what Google’s incubator Area 120 is doing? Tangi, an application (or should I say platform?) that also focuses on the “creative spirit”, was recently officially released. Let’s take a look at why Google wants to support the “short video” platform that seems to be too old. Tangi, a new application incubated by Google, wants to inspire you to learn new things every day (application experience)

According to Tangi app team lead Coco Mao on the Google BlogIntroduction to the article. The reason for developing this app was because I saw that my parents often watched many “how-to” instructional videos and tried to learn skills including photography and painting. Even I myself later joined cooking and fashion-related communities in a similar way without even knowing it. Only then did I discover that this type of video has the magical power of quick learning that is difficult to achieve through graphic teaching. Therefore, in Area 120’s experimental plan, we chose to create a DIY short video platform that stimulates creators’ ideas and communicates, focusing on teaching.

Interestingly, although it is an incubation project of Google, Tangi’s first application is actually only the iOS version of XD (Android can use the web version…).

Tangi has iOS app and web version. There are not many categories now, including art, cooking, DIY, fashion and lifestyle. Click on the video to see a short video of up to 60 seconds. Currently, you need to log in to a Google account and apply additionally to join the ranks of sharing videos:

Although you cannot share the video, you can have a lot of interactions with the creator. In addition to the basic likes (love) and sharing messages, you can also share photos of the finished product after learning about this video:

After logging in to the iOS version of the app, you can get notifications about new videos and responses on the Tangi platform:

Although it does not yet support direct uploading of creative videos, the personal information section has prepared an interface similar to Twitter or YouTube’s “view/like/follow” numbers, etc., and you can apply to join the ranks of creators here:

Do you want to learn some additional skills recently? Maybe you can download Tangi and try it out to see if it inspires you:
